Reskinning Josheh's GP30

Hey Guys,

matruck,
Your model has a lot of nice little details mine doesn't have though, especially with the undercarriage details. I purposely left that stuff out so I could finish it in a timely manner. I did it for fun, because I hadn't done anything train related work in a long time and wanted to do a next gen train asset. At least for work I get to build a highly detailed subway model : D

AJ_Fox,
Doing great! It's been ages since I got to chat with you, hope thigns are going well over there.

backyard & n8phu,
It's mainly time constraints that keeps me away. If I had more time I'd still be making content. I do miss this stuff and I wish I could bring some top shelf content to the latest trainz.

Everyone else,
Here's the GP30 mesh and textures. There's a BN and a ATSF version. I'm not sure if there's any differences between the two meshes? But I included both just to be sure.

So, you design games. Well, I think they should use you more often.

I can't help but count the amount of badly-made trains in games.

Josh

Thank you for these! I appreciate it, and I am sure many others do too!

Time can be our best friend or our worst enemy sometimes....

EDIT: Looks like my GP30 project is in high gear now... maybe a little GP7/9/18/ and 20 action to go along with it... :)

And a E6 as a bonus!

Wow Josh, I had no idea that you had a website! I will have to grab a look at those files. :D

Thanks! :D

Regards.

EDIT: Oh, those files are in .max format. Gmax can import models in .3ds format, but not .max format. :'( Thanks any way, Josh. I am sure that the rest of the community will enjoy these. ;) Regards.

Seriously, I have found some new motivation.

Thank you.

Yum! That locomotive looks so good. :udrool: Any possibility of a .3ds-format export of that for us gmax users? :udrool: :p

Regards.

Um, I can do the original.. that shot is what I accomplished in an hour.... the original is a low nose.....I wanna play a bit more with it.....It looks like I might finally kick 3ds max's behind....

EDIT: Poor SOU and N&W folks will finally be happy.....

EDIT 2: .... Oh, I almost forgot.....I am one of them.

Yeah, the Southern Railway ran in North Carolina also, I believe. :p

By the way, does any one know where I can get Josh's original Burlington Northern GP-30 Trainz asset? I can not find it at the Wayback Machine archive where the GP-7 is stored.

Thanks. ;)

Search for GP30 on the dls...

Its there with a few others....

edit: make sure you tick all the version blocks...

ok, all of them are trs2004 and lower...

now as for access to the dls.... I don't know how that works for those with 2006 and older.......

Users of TRS2006 and earlier must have an FCT to access the DLS. ;) That is part of the Trainz Life-Cycle policy. ;)

I had a one-year FCT up until February 12, but I am pretty much satisfied with what I have. ;) Except, that is, for that GP-30. :p

Regards.
