Reskinning Josheh's GP30

Purveyor of the Forgotten
Lately, I have been messing around with Josh Harvey's GP30 model.... This is one of those locomotives that hasn't been modeled a lot. I like to model the late 60s thru 80's time period a GP30 fits right in.

In all fairness, Cloaked ghost 275 has a really nice payware engine on his site, and Cosmos has a freeware Soo line one over at RRmods.com.

Now, I also have noticed that there are MANY repaints of Josh's works on the DLS, I.E. his E8/9s, the GP30, and a C420.

I checked into the granting of reskin rights in his works... I found nothing stating that you couldn't make personal reskins, and obviously somewhere there is a note granting reskinning rights due to all of the reskins on the DLS..

I remember reading on the forum somewhere that someone said that they had the license for Josh's stuff and could produce it for people...

Could I please see it?

I have tried contacting Josh thru email addresses that I have found, but so far , no contact.

This is for something I am planning to do.......

Go for it. Seriously, if anyone wants to reskin my stuff you're fine to. I'm happy to know people are still asking permission, I'm glad people put the time forth to do that, but I do want everyone to know you're fine to do what you need with the content I've created. As far as I'm concerned, it all belongs to the Trainz community at this point.

It's great to know people are still finding my models useful/acceptable :) It's been ages since I've created any content for Trainz, I'm happy to see it hasn't lost all of it's relevance.

Hey Josh, that's awesome of you to grant a blanket permission like you have. I hope all is going well for you...

Hi Josh, great to see you at least peeking at the forums. ;)

Yes, your content is still great and useful. I have your GP7 and source files (which are available on the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine), and they are great models. ;) It is very generous of you to release your stuff to the Trainz Community like that. Thanks! ;)

Regards.

Hey Guys,

I'll look through some of my old stuff sometime this evening and see if I can't get some source files floated your way. I'm sure it'd make some people happy if some of it got updated for the newer versions of Trainz.

I smell awesome sauce....

That would be killer if you could do that....

Also, I tossed a PM your way.

Thanks Josh! I am sure that many people around here would appreciate that. :D ;)

I'm afraid the POOP system has been flushed, caught between versions and redundant to other creations and the like...

Too bad, it must have been good while it lasted. Your old thread announcing it did bring huge laughs out of us when we saw it. :D ;) :hehe: :hehe:

Regards.

Well, there is still some POOP clinging to my 2006 version, but I don't feel much urgency about it.

I guess I'll just sit on it for the time being. It's not alot, so I don't think I'll wipe it just yet...

Euphod,

I actually came across the rocket cow model. I was thinking to myself if anyone around here would have even remembered that one!

I did track down some stuff, the GP30 model, the GP60M, sw1500, and of course a bunch of other fun stuff. Some good some bad :p

I actually remember seeing the Rocket Cow on DLS searches in the past. I never was really interested, but now I am! :'( Maybe its on your old website at the Wayback Machine. :udrool:

Any way, thanks for finding some models, Josh! :D

Regards.
