Regretful apologies to everyone

After replying in the first page of the thread yesterday and reading the whole of the thread today tears are still coming down from eyes:'( I can remember when my Gran passed away 13 months ago I dearly miss her every day of my life.

Alastair will be missed greatly by me and every member of the Trainz Community

My Senior Driver

:( Goodbye Alastair, we will never forget you!

Dire Straits, Brothers In Arms (YouTube)

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arm

Through these fields of destruction
Baptism of fire
I've watched all your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

I've been out in Colorado visiting my daughter so I just saw this thread. I am so sorry to see this original post. My condolences to his family and friends from over the pond. He will be missed very much.

I am deeply saddened by the news of HJP's passing. He was a great person and a great member on the forums, and the chat. Even though we did not always agree all the time. I liked and respected him alot.

So sorry to read this thread, It is always sad to hear such news.
He was a serious contributor to Trainz and the forum, we will truely miss him and the deepest of heart felt condolences to his family .

:( :( :(

RIP HJP.

The nature of these posts are always a shock to read. When I first joined the Trainz community back in 2002, there were about a dozen or so members who regarded as pillars, or almost founders, of the Community. Alastair (aka Beanpole at the time) was one of them. For this thread to reach 8 pages as soon as it has, I'm obviously not alone in feeling this way.

Appropriate, Alastair is immortalised on our PC's in the Virtual World of Trainz.

Condolences to family, loved ones and friends.

Simon. :(

He was such fun, and he helped so much. Or drove others to complete their projects.

Yes, he was fun. I'll miss his funny posts.

As someone has said before, some people are pillars of the community. We might have our disagreements from time to time, but before everything else, we are family.

Perhaps it was a blessing for us all, his father finding the forum open, and with great sensitivity and compassion, posting that Alastair is no longer with us.

God speed.

Wow 8 pages, I hope he knows how much we care.

It's almost like sending a train Via Iportal, It's a train at first and in goes in car by car, Like year by year.

And after it's went though the driver is removed,

And we never see him again....

So sorry to hear of Alistair's loss of life. I only met him once when he came to Brisbane a few years ago.

Alistair told a few funny stories and was a real pleasure to have met him.

My prayers are with everyone who was involved in Alistair's life.

Thanks for the memories Alistair.

This is terrible, tragic news. Alastair/HJP was a member who went out of his way to help others. My deepest condolences to his family.

John
