I'm currently playing around with Cincysouthernrwy's wonderful V&O Afton Division, and i am trying to develop a "normal" traffic flow for the route. What has bothered me is this: i don't know the orientation of the railroad in general (north-south or east-west) and i don't know its location in relation to the Gauley Division, which is where the line to Sunrise on the Alleghany Midland Veers off. That could determine wether the two AM symbol freights, the Florida Perishable and the Hot Rod, move over the railroad. I don't have my stacks of old 70's 80's and early 90's MR back-issues here with me (from my Grandfather, mind you) so i can't go reference it myself. I seem to recall from the issue where Mr. McClelland said he was tearing down the Gualey Division that the V&O crossed the Ohio River, yet i also seem to recall the AM moving tide coal, which would imply i met the Atlantic somewhere, right?
It's not like i would die if i don't have this information, i just thought i'd ask. The V&O is my idol layout; it's what i hope to achieve in my own dream layout. To have the layout i grew up watching on Great Model Railroads VHS tapes and in old issues of MR in trainz answers a bit of a prayer. Its great to run it in trainz; and to just run it willy nilly just doesn't seem fitting.
