platform lights for station needed

hi all

i am running station bahnhof kuid:121945:28101 for some of my stations.
the only problem is that they have no night lights.
i cannot find anything that will fit under the station canopy and look realistic.
any names or kuids that might work would be greatly appreciated

I know just what you mean, there are hundreds out there, just look for all the different namings like "Lite, Lamp, light and add all the different pre words like "station light/lamp platform light/lamp. Then you have the ones from European Countries/creators that are spelt in their language.
There are some great light circles that you place under a lamp in all shapes colours and sizes that I use for non night mode items. Happy searching. :wave:

Choose lamp:

Lower it to required height:

Add new light pool:

I know you're only testing the lights, but I think the light is too low. The light pool looks better than it's default light.

Edit: And probably move it back slightly to nearer the garbage bins.

Hi Red,

I know its low. I deliberately reset it there on my layout to demonstrate the principle. Using that method should enable misterchug to choose any light (whether or not it was created with a light pool), set it at any height under his station canopy, and switch it on. However an unlit lamp may look a bit strange with a light pool if it hasn't got a bulb.

I agree that the replacement light pool looks better. I may just have to change them all, but I'll research the real ones first.

With regard to placing it further back towards the garbage bin, I've tried to be faithful to the real station. The real one, near the seat, isn't sited at the rear of the platform:

I may move it back a bit though, having had another look at the photograph!

Bahnhof lights

Hello Ron,

Try these lights - Bahnsteiglampe - kuid:121945:28250 to 28259. They are set at platform height and fit under the awning. Also have a look at - Lighting strips - kuid2:68213:21025:1, 21032:1, 21038:1. Hope this is of some help.

Suggestion - as you're using a "bahnhof", try searching the DLS for the German "lampe" - making sure TRS2004 is also checked in the search field!

Klapec (Author ID) and Edgar Wood (Author ID) have items which may fit the bill.

Klapec's lamps are showing up on the DLS - maybe it's the typical weekend heavy loads on the server that are causing jitters!

Funny - I've just downloaded some more of Edgar Wood's stuff through CMP2. In Content Manager, the author shows as "edgar_wood" and most of his stuff is prefixed "EW-"

Don't forget, too, that Germans abbreviate Bahnhof to Bhf and there are some lamps by different authors headed "Bhf lampe". (Major stations are "Hauptbahnhof" if you're interested.)

There are also various "Lampenschein" files by author "hadotwe" which allow you to use non-night mode lamps if you wish, or to increase/decrease the area bathed in light from your overhead lamps.

Pretty cool stuff - you should find something there, I hope, misterchugg!
