(5) Updates!!

Hey All---

The trackwork for the (5) has been coming along slowly due to the holidays but I have finally made it down to Brooklyn Bridge, and the City Hall Loop. Tomorrow I shall break ground into Brooklyn.

Also, major announcement, I'm upgrading the (5) to include the (4) and (6) as well. In the Bronx, only the Jerome & Pelham branches need to be finished, and the branch to Utica Av.

Enjoy these few pictures!

(4)(5) express tracks descend north of 42 St

*cough* Eye candy?

I think it's high time I got this done and released before I resume work on the R160. This shouldn't take much longer(although that doesn't mean it will be released anytime soon).

I'll also be reworking the stations and lowering the poly count on the el tracks. stay tuned.

To both acelajade and BStyles, that is some cool classic content!! Keep it up.

BStyles, it's been a long time, after u finished the R142, have u tried exporting to trainz via/RubyTMIX.

Wow, you completed three large yards already? My compliments to you, I get flustered over just one.

Have you completed the intermediate (6) Local stops in Manhattan as well, or is that yet to come?

That Bombardier R142 subway car looks awesome along with the City Hall loop. Can't wait to see more pictures. Do you think you will put announcements in the subway cars for that realistic NYC subway experience.

(6) Local stations included

Wow, you completed three large yards already? My compliments to you, I get flustered over just one.

Have you completed the intermediate (6) Local stops in Manhattan as well, or is that yet to come?

Yeah, tell me about it! I got started with NYCTA a few years back using the BAHN program, and I built a complete NYCTA route using "Tracks of the NYC Subway" by Peter Dougherty, and the layout included all of the yards as well. So, I've had some practice. It's difficult to get started, but once I've been working on it for 20-30 minutes, it gets a little easier.

The (6) stops are included on the route as well, I thought it would be silly to leave them out (this was before I announced the addition of the (4) and (6) to the route. I would like my routes to be interactive for the players, so if you felt like sending a (2) down the (5) line, or a (5) on the local, you could very well do so. Again, you're somewhat limited, as the (2) route "ends" west of GC-149 St; the South Ferry loops for the old (1) end/begin in bumper blocks outside of the station, and the (2)(3) connection at Boro Hall only includes the station which (yep, you got it), ends in bumper blocks. This is to limit my work to just the immediate route (4)(5)(6), yet build enough of the connections to seem realistic. I don't know if I've already announced this, but I am always saving two different copies of the routes, and in early 2012 will be resuming the FULL NYCTA layout.

Also, finally finished Manhattan a few minutes ago, and built the Joralemon tubes and Boro Hall Station. I should tackle downtown Brooklyn and Rogers Junction before the end of the week. Once trackwork is laid, then I'll relax for Christmas and resume on the most challenging part--signalling and signs.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Dude don't rush let him do his thing it'll be done when it's done. Let's just enjoy the pics and btw great pics guys and I had a question acelejalde is there a way to take off the tracks on your stations you released?

There's really no way to detach the tracks themselves. You can change the kuid number in the config to one for an invisible track asset, however, you won't be able to really "attach" other tracks over the invisible ones since they'll technically still be tracks, though invisible. Any visible tracks will still snap to the ends of the splines. I hope that made sense?

Ok i wanted to know cuz i was thinking about putting the invisible subway station in your content to make it passenger enabled.

Actually it should be possible by deleting the attached-track sections from the config.txt.

Metro station 02,<kuid:275817:60531>

Has attached tracks, the clone;

297 subway station 02,<kuid:522774:100625>

Does not have attached tracks since I wanted to use AJS invisible stations with it.

Acelejade, are you almost done with those tunnels? Just askin'...

Why PJAMA, gosh he doesn't owe you anything sheesh be patient. I once rushed someone and I got %$@#^^@%$^ (that's not meant to be a curse word). So just let him be finished when he is. I doubt he is... Most trainzers tend to want to let others know when they finish making content they think is good :hehe:
Eric :)
