Hello,

I'm new to the game (TRS2004) but certainly I've looked through this forum and the game's documentation.
First of all -> I don't use or understand US signalling at all . British signals are more familiar to me so I use them although I don't know much about signals at all ;)

But the problem is that when you lay tracks you detemine direction of the track. So when you have trains travelling both directions and you have junctions - the signals start to act strangely

See? The left hand junction is ok - the first signal shows what should be shown on the right hand example.

Is there a way to change track's direction without erasing it and laying it again in different direction?

Cheers
Kris

on the righthand junction it looks like you have the lever too close to the actual spline 'point'. try moving the lever back a bit toward the signal.

On the left hand pic the signal is indicating correctly - showing a Position 4 feather for a right hand diverging route. On the right shot you have the Yellow Track Direction Markers facing the wrong way, so a train could noy approach the signal.:( Go to the DLS, tick ALL the boxes on the left (TRS2004 , Pre SP3 Trainz etc) then type "Signal Guide" into Search. There are 2 guides for USA signals and one for UK.

By default, signals and track direction markers will face in the direction in which the track was laid.

So, if I am laying a double track main line for example, I will lay one track first in the direction in which trains will travel, like on the left track in your picture. This way the signals and direction markers will face the correct way. Then I will place track spacing guide and will lay the other track next to it in the other direction for the same reason, so signals and direction markers will face the correct way.

Now if I need to do say a single line in which trains will travel in both directions, I will lay the track in one direction and place signals and direction markers in one direction then place them for the other direction and use the 'rotate' button to switch the direction they are facing. Like what is needed in your picture on the right track, but looking at it, you have used the wrong signal near the lever.

This is assuming that you want the trains to travel in the direction in which the direction markers are facing, Hope this helps a little.

Thank you all for your answers!

The 'winner' is:

on the righthand junction it looks like you have the lever too close to the actual spline 'point'. try moving the lever back a bit toward the signal.

I'd never thought it might be a problem.
Thanks o lot! :)

Also, to ease your feathers problems you could have a look to the signals from Bloodnok (http://www.vsr.org.uk). They allow you to easily set complex junction signalling, with feathers as well as theatre (i.e. letter/number).
