AI signal response anomaly

Strange one, this! 6 identical consists [BR class 158 DMU's] on a loop circuit through 6 different late model stations. Simple track specs, all t:ane concrete, all default switch levers, basic signalling with identical signal US 2 04. circuit length around 36 miles, default signal block length 3 miles, minimal junctions. Stations installed on main loop, no turnouts. Invisible speed restrictions, additional signals and track direction markers adjacent to stations.
Task set for AI is for 6 trains to leave depot at 10 minute intervals. 1st train is tasked to furthest station [f], 2nd to next station [e], 3rd to station [d],etc
First two trains no problem
Train 3 arrives at last signal in the yard environment, arrives at 'stop.' When the light goes to amber, train remains immobile. Same when light goes green.
Trains,4/5/6 all activate at end of wait command, and queue at following signals. Mouse over of green signal shows correct operational message, line is clear.
Train 3 will proceed only under manual controller, signals activate correctly when passed.
Train 4 reaches same signal, encounters same problem.
So train 1 and 2 are driving under AI, train 3 and 4 are running at full speed and half speed respectively on manual controller.
Train 5 reaches malfunctioning signal response point, passes through correctly.
Train 6 arrives at malfunctioning signal point, still at 'stop' to protect train 5, proceeds correctly when signal changes to amber.
Same scenario when Trackmarks are substituted for industries. session layer is merged into route layer, missing assets deleted. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!
