New USA Mountain Shortline - Large Pics (1024 x 786)

I'm going to take a guess that photo 1 is on the Vonny branch near Horners. And photo 2 is also on the Vonny, somewhere enroute to Iron City. I may be wrong though.

Bill, did you replace your crossing in photo 2 with a YARN crossing?

Correct Joe.... The first pic is up on the Vonny branch near Horners... Its the crossing on the Eureka Spur just past the switch to the store load out and before the end of track.

The second is at the end of the branch just by Iron City at the run-around track at the end of the line.... and yes that is a YARN crossing in there.;)

Update

Due to increased interchange traffic and coal train traffic, the P&B has added a new passing siding near Mt Union and Grundys. In order to accomadate this trackage, the block limit station (BLS) of Grundys and associated approach block limit signals (ABL) have been relocated approxiately 1000 feet west of its previous location.

Here is Grundys Siding West

Nice shots Bill. I was beginning to wonder if you left the forums.

Hi Joe! Thanks alot.... I am loving your work and shots.

You may find it operationaly functional or irrelevant to add this siding in to your updated version. I just thought it was something fun to do!

Bill

Thanks Bill. Funny story. I added that passing siding already, months ago ;). I guess great minds think alike. My passing siding is about a mile and a half long. I wanted to be able to run long through trains in both directions. I'd post some shots of it, but currently it's just track and signals on an empty base board. I also located Grundy's spur before the passing siding for some reason.

Some day I'll finish the update to your route, someday......

Hey Bill and Joe, your work looks terrific! I guess I'll have to wait for you both to post your updates. Keep up the great work!

:)

Thanks Bryinmich!

Here a 60 car coal drag from the Coal Creek Branch waits on the siding at Grundys for a through frieght thats just out of Trout.....

Such excitement on this route these days. Your recent pictures have gotten me to run a few sessions on your version a few times in the past few days :)

Thanks Joe! If I may ask - what area(s) did you run or switch out... just curious ;)

Last pic of the night run.....

Between both of our versions of the route my personal favorite has always been the Vonny Branch. I'm not sure why, but it's always been extremely interesting to me. My second choice would probably be the Grafton Local. So those two tend to be what I run the most and they both happen to be the most finished areas on my 2010 version :)
