Nature Screenshots! (BIG and NUMEROUS pictures!)

:p An unnatural one, but very very human, too human IMO!

...Even if you aren’t initially aware of it, it just looks wrong and makes for a bad looking shot IMHO.

The more observant may also have noticed that the old guy responsible for dumping those beer cans on the shrine has returned. He's a well known local religious drinker (the character – not the creator)!

Jeez, even your 'bad looking' shots would win most competitions Casper! And the weeds on the roof, a stroke of genius.

Nice to see the old hobo finding shelter somewhere. If I ever get back to content creation, I intend to fix him up a little. One of his hands is inside out (has flipped normals in gmax-speak) and I think he is a little too small. Perhaps a week on a "Salvation a la mode" diet would scale him up a bit? What do you think?

I’d never noticed the hand before – I’ve just had another look. It’s still amazes me what there is to find and enjoy in this sim.

To me, that hand looks more like a repetitive strain injury. Brought on by excessive asset repairing perhaps? (Or “Spanking the one key”, as I prefer to call it).

Scaling wise, he looks fine. Against the well built Russian guy, he does look a bit scrawny, but that’s all part of his great character. Imagining him upright, with his limbs stretched out, I reckon they’d be around the same height.

Nothing a decent diet and some regular sessions at the gym wouldn’t fix, but I don’t think we’d like him any other way than exactly as he is now!

Have a good weekend.

Alberte,
Thank you for the dedication!

Damned high maintenance these cattle. Up every morning for the milking, out to pasture during the day. Mucking out!! I can see why you have ploughed fields rather than pasture!

You’ll be pleased to hear that the cows are still very contented though – just like me!

I also fancied a nice Mediterranean early morning sail, before the heat of the day.

A thousand miles travelled, all in the time it took to change maps in Surveyor. I love this sim!

Being older does have its advantages – retirement and plenty of time to play again!

Thanks to all you great creators and suppliers for all of the great assets!

Cheers

Greeeeeeeatttttttttttttttt, Casper! :clap::clap::clap:

:hehe::p;) Can anybody see any trace or hint or evidence of ToMuchSpeedtreez here? :hehe: Who said that 2/3-plane billboarded greenery was out of fashion? :D

Even Lady cows can taste the peaceful lightness of them!

WOW. :D

That is no Trainz screenshot! That is a photograph!! :p :D

Just kidding. :o :p :hehe:

But still, it is just proof that we have a real master route-builder on our hands. :D That one is payware quality! :D

Regards.

Thanks retro and Alberte! :)

There’s more than one problem with SpeedTrees. :(

I know there are those who love them (or say they do), but to me they just don’t look at all real.

Some look like a cross between a feather duster and a bottle brush, and they all seem to have the same foliage colours per variety. Real trees have a mix of foliage colors with new leaves being lighter and fresher in colour than the older ones – on the same tree. The billboard type use real imagery which reflects this together with lots of other foliage texture elements.

Without foliage, SpeedTrees look even worse. The bare branches are too jagged and angular, and are unrealistically conical – the shapes don’t flow like a natural branch.

With billboards you can mix the seasons a bit. Not every tree turns colour at the same time. It is quite natural to have autumnal colours on some, whilst other varieties hold their full flush of summer green for a while longer.

It’s also nice to have one or two bare branched (sick or diseased) trees amongst the live ones.

I also prefer to decide how my trees look and match up, not let the software do it for me, according to season.

That’s why I don’t like SpeedTrees ... and why I prefer billboards.

All in my humble opinion of course.

Cheers.
