@UPbigboy your remark about the wheels slipping made me think back to some sidings here where the monkeys learnt to put sugar cane on the rails and then they wait patiently all in a row for the train to pass and flatten the cane, then they pick it up and have a ball...The cane juice made the rails very slippery :D
 
Flood plain with a "billabong" on the South Esk River in Tasmania.



St Pauls River, Avoca, Tasmania. The Avoca rail bridge is in the middle distance with the township of Avoca on the hill in the background. The Merrywood coal loader is at the left end of the bridge. This is as it would have looked in the early 1950s.
