I’ve been trying out these excellent new (to me) trees from this site.

They are build 2.9, but I’ve been changing them to 2.4 to suit my version. All is OK with the individual tree assets - as you can see, they work fine.

However, the spline versions of these assets don’t show. When the 2.9 is edited to 2.4 the spline circles then appear in Surveyor, and the spline can be stretched and added to, but there is no image at all.

Any ideas anyone?

Maybe the 2004 version has trouble reading the .im files introduced from 2009 and up (I think).
I don`t know if there is anything you can do about that.

Hi Casper,

the problem with the splines is, that they are not backward compatible. There is a solution however.

1. Open for edit the spline you want to downgrade.
2. Pick out the config.txt and make a copy of it (under the name config2004.txt, for example)
3. Open for edit another spline object, which is error free under TRS2004.
4. Check and compare the error free config.txt of the TRS2004 version to that of TS2009.
5. Try to reproduce in the config2004.txt all differences you observe compared to that of the functional 2004 spline-config
6. When finished save your config2004.txt as config.txt (before this it is recommended to save the original config.txt as originalconfig.txt in case of accidents :))

Put the model in the TRS2004.

Be aware of, that this method needs probaly more trials until you succed, but i tested it and it works fine.

Thanks Sura. the advice is very much appreciated.

I'll give it a try and see what happens.

p.s. Glad you liked Liguria, and thank you for the compliment.

Northern Italy

.
Here's a bit more (slow) progress on my current route showing some of the track-side scenery and hand built lake & mountains.

All fictitious, but based on the northern Italian lakes area.
