How did you get triangles instead of squares?

This works in TRS2004. Go into wireframe mode where you will see the regular square wireframe view; then press Alt+W which will toggle you in and out of the finer triangular view.

There are numerous creative and, possibly, performance advantages to this alternative view which have been discussed in other threads.

The function it not available in later versions, but I don't know when it stopped. I see that you have three versions above TRS2004. It would be interesting to know whether it works in '06, '09 & 10 .

Of course it works in 06, why wouldn't it ... only 09, 10, 12 are different grids .. I see absolutely no point in being interested in it, if you have 09, 10, 12

Yep, they are.
