What? Looking for more complaints?I need to increase the scale of Trainz's objections
I would say so. If you eventually succeed (with both the permissions and the rescaling) then I would urge that you add "Garden RR Scale" (or similar) to both the asset names and descriptions otherwise you will get lots of complaints about the oversized, gigantic weeds on steroids that you have created.I can do this by changing the mesh-scale. Do I need the permission of the designer to do this?
Checking just now on the DLS in the 'layouts' menu and using 'garden as a key word in the description tag I found a very small number of garden layouts which may or may not be useful.Do you know an easy way to search on DLS to find assets that fit a garden rr?
Unless a modified asset is only for your own personal use you really do need to get the asset creator's permission before making any modifications. I know sometimes that's not possible, but their copyright has to be respected.KotangaGirl thanks for the help. I'll check it out. If an asset designer doesn't include contact information do you think they care if I change the 'mesh-scale' in a copy of their asset file with my kuid ID. I guess I could include a statement 'adapted from "asset designer's Kuid ID"
One idea might be to download Garden Railroads by other authors and that would not only give you perspective, but get you a whole bunch of assets at once:
<kuid:768291:12650> DWW GR 3ft Garden Railway Dreams
<kuid:166065:105760> EMM GR Gartenbahn - Garden Railway in G-Scale
<kuid2:204652:101123:1> Xmas Garden
<kuid2:289739:100723:1> GR Garden Railway USA - Multiple Gauge Garden Railway in G-Scale
<kuid2:289739:100596:2> GR Mehrfachlehre Gartenbahn - Multiple Gauge Garden Railway in G-Scale
<kuid2:167786:100657:1> Toys In The Secret Garden at Christmas
When I started with this, I added "HUGE" to the asset name. Didn't really get picked up by a lot of people (and maybe I didn't think it through long enough), but a few did.assets made specifically for model railway use should have 'MR' in their file names.
