Got this from www.historicrail.com

It's and Athearn EMD Southern Pacific F7 in Daylight livery. The coupler has been ruined and I need a new one. Does anyone know what kind of coupler it is? Might just get a brand new engine. Accidentally snapped a couple off the brakes. Didn't cost that much.

Go with Kadee #5. It's the standard that most use. If not, you want something with center shank and medium length. The Kadee #58 is the same but with a scale head. They both couple to each other, but I think the 58 looks better. They're both around 4 bucks for four couplers on Walthers.com.

Those look pretty good betancp. Way back when I modeled in HO, seems like everyone used Kadee, and we'd use different brown paint colors on them. Just a litte paint, called dry brushing, made them just pop out and look pretty real, which of course was the object of modeling!

A couple of times I've actually seen couplers that almost looked very orangeish just from rust. But I'm colorblind, so what do I know....

I used to do the Kadees all the time and then I found out about these: they need to me manually uncoupled, but the looks and operation are awesome - I have an extra set waiting to go on the new Athearn SSW bay windows coming out next month - and you can't beat drybrushing: I do it all the time.:)
