"Our regular newsletter editor is away on vacation, so we've prepared a short feedback survey.
Please take just two minutes to give us your feedback regarding our regular newsletter so that we can find out how to improve what we offer."

The timing appears to be superb!

Could this mean dismissal for the vacationing newsletter editor?

Interesting point of view. I saw it as a chance to improve the newsletter without disrupting its weekly production since they will skip this week while the editor is on vacation
