K&L Trainz Steam Locomotive pics!

There's probably 15 projects I had started in the past but had to put them aside because the commission work became 100% of my work. Besides the C&O Kanawhas, PRR B1 and NKP 587, everything else since the NKP Berkshires from Sept 2014 have been commission jobs.

Once you are able to get everything everyone wants covered, can you redo the New Haven 2-8-0 with the extra features like the AutoNumbers

Why ???
Erm, thats the one thing I do not have from K&L and don't want. LOL
It's a great engine .

Been a while

I actually wonder if it's their very first model

The first official K&L model was the K4. Some of the older models sold by K&L Trainz (SP MT-4, CB&Q O5, and NH 2-8-0) predate the K4 and where originally made by Bill Klene, as custom commissions. Sadly these can't be updated to current Trainz standards, with the exception of the CB&Q O5 as the original source files are no longer around. They are sold as is.

I've seen it on YouTube videos and no offense Steve, but it really does not look good. Its just my opinion.

I haven't seen any youtube videos of the New Haven engine. Keep in mind that was one of Bill's original models. I attempted to update it 4 years ago but without the source files, there was no way to really do anything to it without just starting over.

Life had some unexpected track issues :D

As for the New Haven , I believe it was a Bill and Steve collaboration . And the only one I don't have . Only because it's not TANE compatible . As in any hobby , your first work usually doesn't compare to the ladder . Wish I could do as well , and it's not Steves first . The vid's I've watched seem rather nice , in my opinion . Would love to have in my roster ..

Bill worked on 4 or 5 New Haven engines before I even met him. In fact, when I bought his New Haven 2-6-0 from him, that was the first time we ever spoke. So the K4 was our first team project, over the years i've tried to take some of his older stuff and update them a bit. The CB&Q O5b was one, and the New Haven 2-8-0, but I couldn't do much because the source files were lost earlier.

Thanks Steve for the correction . Still like the Engine . As to why I have the others , I bleed PRR red . But like all steam , there fun as %^$# to run . And it's a small way to support K&L :D Two beers , is worth an engine .:hehe:

A shame about the files . ...

Steve also finished Bill's Niagara.

I actually rebuilt 80% of it. I had a hard time working with the parts the way Bill had made them, so I just made new ones. If I can find a pic of the original compared to my upgrade one, it's a pretty insane comparison.

Huh. I didn't know that. Whatever happened to bill? Someone was telling me he no longer works with you. Is that true?

Yes @ktrain.ny. I remember somewhere Steve said that Bill is on vacation and that he does not want to waste his time sitting in front of a pc.

Wouldn't call it "wasting" his time. Bill is 78 and retired. He has a fairly large family all over the country and enjoys spending time with them when he can. He periodically works on stuff, but has focused most of his recent time with Trainz on offering online modeling tutorials to help people get started in content creation. He was college instructor for 3 decades.
