K&L Trainz Steam Locomotive pics!

After two weeks on the board, i'm pretty much calling the engine done......I will be adding the running numbers to the sand dome later on. But for now, I am now moving on to the tender, then aux, then the 4 crew cars.

Scripts just enhance the amazing locomotives though. Id be happy with or without. Steam is a fleeting dream that trainz needs.

Well, now with Trainz we can simulate almost every steam program there was, from Southern to Chessie to NS to BM&R and more. Now if only someone would build the routes that these engines ran on, maybe some of them, There is a blank DEM by fishlips at his external site from Philly to Wash DC which has both the Amtrak (ex-PC/PRR) and B&O-Chessie-CSX routes. Build the Chessie route from Philly to Wash DC via Baltimore on that map and you will have some of the lines that the Chessie Steam Special and Safety Express ran on. Also, download the WM/B&O routes by jrfolco on his external site, or at trainzproroutes. Like the sections from Connellsville, PA to Point of Rocks, MD. He plans to have Point of Rocks to Baltimore next year. TANE has some of the New River Gorge route, but not the full route that the annual excursion train runs on. There hasn't been steam on that run since 1994, MILW 261 pulled that year and before that NKP 765. Did 614 also pull on that run, too? 614 ran in NJ and NY from Hoboken to Port Jervis between 1996-1998. We need that route, too. I enjoyed riding behind 765 to the Horseshoe Curve few years ago and from Bethlehem to Pittston to Jim Thorpe this past August. NS's new steam excursions have a concession car, something that the Reading and Northern's longer trips no longer have. In the BM&R days they had food service cars with old baggage cars on longer trips. NS's renovated coaches have better bathrooms, but no opening windows like the Reading and Northern, Steamtown, etc. Most non-class 1 steam train excursion outfits have older open window coaches, except the WMSR which has more modern streamlined sealed window cars like NS but allows open vestibules.

Am I the only one that wished pic's like that came with sound ....? :D:hehe: Man this is going to be nice to have. Great job

Matt
