If the Download Station/forum fails while Auran are on holidays?

If the Download Station and/or Download Helper fails again while Auran are on holidays, will their be anyone available to fix it?

And if it does fail (at anytime) could someone post an announcement, and if known, what is wrong in the announcement section?

I was just thinking the same myself. Especially after the way things were two weeks ago. Spiffy did post that the help desk was going to be monitored but nothing mentioned about DLS/Helper.

Hi guys
I'll still be around a bit. I'm taking a few days off from the helpdesk completely (give the brain a rest ), however I will be monitoring the forums at least once per day. Of course, if something goes wrong it will likely end up on the forums (of course, if they go down, well thats rather obvious ). If this does happen, I'll send an email to the admin. It may be a while before he receives it, but we would try and sort it as quickly as possible (and within reason, being holidays).

I will be around if anyone needs to contact me, but please be patient in getting a reply (or fix if the forums/DLS do go down), since we are on 'holidays' here

Thanks for the quick response. At least we now now all aspects will be covered one way or the other. Many will have to have a lot of patience whilst waiting for fixes,(if anything goes wrong).

The things we worry about....:hehe: If the Download Station/forum would go down for a couple of weeks, there would be more than a few Trainzers curled up by their computers in the fetal position sucking their thumbs...

If the DLS goes down or the forums go down then you can still access them via FTP as that should still work.

Yep, I had a feeling the forums would go down. They were down from around Saturday night to this morning, but if that is the case, I come I see posts that were posted yesterday?

The forum was down for me Today, December 28, from 8am until around now 12 noon.

Someone must have been watching over us.

Many thanks to who ever it was, its much appreciated as I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms :hehe::hehe:

If the forum goes down, what about a "backup forum"? One on another website or something?

I noticed the forum went down for well over 4 or 5 hours yesterday.

The forum was down today. I thought that someone is watching the computers that run the websites and forums. There are "backup" forums on TrainSim and UK-TrainSim. Someone is usually on computer-controlled trains so that he/she can take over if something goes wrong with computer-controlled trains.
