I wish better sounds in Trainz

Hi.

I already complained about that in my 7 parts review but here I want to know why Auran can make it more real. By listening carefully at this video (crank up the volume), you will soon remark that most modern mainline tracks have no more joints on the track so the clikety cliketac is no more a feature that should be included in Trainz. Why Auran don't record a train passing by to hear the real sounds the cars are making ??? The sound is made by the car's wheels. I think it would be much easier to synchronize the sound with the train speed if it would be recorded this way? I wish one day they will get it correct.

Even this scale model railroad using real sounds arrangement make the experience more real than Trainz itself.

I understand what you say about the 'Clackety-Clack' not being correct for modern routes. However bear in mind, some of us are on the nostalgia kick, and prefer older routes where this sound is applicable. To do away with it altogether, would not be right for these. The ideal solution would be a sound that could be turned on & off.

Actually, it's now up to the creator to change that sound to one they want.

I'm curious as to whether one could use an 'Enginesound' to recreate the wheel sounds for rolling stock (would need one for various bogies, but it should be do-able, if TRS will support it). But then, you would be stuck with this if you are running on continuous welded track (not all lines have this, and you can still get the join sounds from it). So we would go back to the custom track sound again, which would see us with a single speed but the ability to swap to a CWT style sounds for CWT tracks.

Sounds a little confusing I guess. But basically what I'm saying is that the creator of the track does have available the ability to make a custom track sound for assets that may require it.

Most US railroads still have joints, because most is older track. So there would be clickity clacking. What we do need is, like you said, more sounds from the train, such as flat wheels, flange squeal, ect.

Hi.

Wouldn't be easier to create a marker to be placed on the track with an assigned track sound of our choice. This way the track would make the desired sound ???

Hi!

For me is the Enginesound (diesel/steam) that counts. It has been improved a loot from TRS2006 to TS2009.

And until things is sorted out, why not listen to this sound

Petter :hehe:
