Hi!
Is it possible to create realistic electric train inverter sounds that work like they do in real life? It's quite difficult to explain in words, but I'll try my best.
In Trainz, engine sounds ramp up and down depending on the amount of throttle, which works well for diesel rolling stock. However, electric trains are a completely different story. Sounds should ramp up while accelerating and ramp down while decelerating, with the ramping dependent on train speed, not throttle.
I know that there is an 'electric' type engine sound, but it contains only one audio file whose pitch depends on speed. That’s not quite realistic either. The sound keeps playing constantly when the train is moving, although it should stop while coasting. In Train Simulator and Train Sim World, for example, electric train sounds are simulated realistically. Trainz should also have this feature. Maybe realistic electric train sounds could be created using track sounds. Realistic sounds make the driving experience much more immersive.
Additionally, interiors should block outside sounds, but Trainz seems to lack this feature too.
