I could use help with adding baseboards

I've been trying to add baseboards to my modified Marias Pass Approach route in TRS2006. I actually read the manual and followed the directions, but when the new baseboard is added, it's waaaaay down there. The existing adjoining ground level is around 1,000 ft.

Is this the way the addition is supposed to come out or am I doing something wrong? If I'm doing it right, how do I get the new baseboard up to the current ground elevation, and will the old and new baseboard edges match?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You have to raise it waaaaay up in "terrain tab", by either find terrain height/apply height/plateau ... or by drag square path /cut/paste height "tool tab"
