I am leaving the scene.......

I am back...........

Hi all, first to thank you for the nice words when I left :hehe:

I came home last night with heaps of digital pictures and new ideas of what to build for TRS04 and TRS09. When visiting Mackay there in Qland I went to Haypoint where one of the largest port coal loading facilities in Queensland are. This is a mindboggling array of hopper unloading, conveyor belt loaders, port facilities and jetties etc. Incidently, there where 24 or so coal transport ships waiting in the bay to be loaded, such is the worldwide demand for our coal. I heard something similar is happening in Gladstone too.

Recreating such a coal loading facility for TRS would indeed be a challenge, perhaps one day....

Plus I gathered a lot of ideas for interesting buildings, shops, unique pubs (like the "Wobbly Boot" Hotel and others) and other stuff which is only visible up there in sunny Queensland.

The trip itself was uneventful, meaning no mishaps or mechanical issues eventuated. Exception being, I drive a Ford Territory AWD station, one of the electric windows choose to stay open and refused to being shut. After undoing the doortrim panel and propping a stick of timber under it to keep it shut permanently for the time being until I replace its winder motor I went on my merry way again. Ahh.......... the wonders of modern technology

Its good to be home again and starting up my trusty 3DS Max and continue where I left off last.

@Noel, sure, bring on your requests, I will see how I can fit them into my schedule :hehe:

Thanks again for your kind words when I left 3 weeks ago :D

Cheers

G'day Herbert,

Welcome home mate!.
We are in the midst of exploratory expeditious doings, having started on Sat @ Wagga (where Craig collected me from the XPT I'd arrived on).
We drove to Narrandera where the next day we started in earnest with our inspection of the old Narrandera_Tocumwal branch line.
Now about to continue at Jerilderie yard precinct before coninuing to Tocumwal, where we are based for three days.
Heaps of pics.:)

I hope that you will have fun on your trip and look forward to see you back here safe and sound!;)

Have a great sunny vacation. Maybe this will bring some inspiration back to the hobby for you. It always does for me.

I have been back since May....

Hi guys (and girls), I have been back in my neck of the woods since May this year. This thread got accessed wrongly a couple of days ago but no big deal as such :p.

Yes. I enjoyed my trip up to Banana land, a lot of building activity infra structure wise is going on there. Would you believe in Mackay (where I had been visiting) there would be some 20-30 motels but these are usually permanently booked out and occupied by workers working in the surrounding area. I also took heaps of pictures from around there with lots of ideas for creating stuff while there.

Unfortunately, now for TS09 and TS10, the content building is, to say the least, very complicated now compared to the TRS04 style of content making hence this takes up lots more time to do and is also very demanding as many more parameters have to be done right.

Regarding my new stuff, I have been building so far on over 12 months and these new units should be ready in the very near future as these get tested at this very moment (check my signature pic below). When ready, I will make a very detailed information web site page available for those interested to see what I have been up to in all that time.

Cheers
