looks great!
a guy in California buildin a NYC route that dont sound to out of wack does it?
No not at all. I'm from the eastern USA and I build routes all over and even outside of the country. An artist should build whatever he or she finds of interest.

Again excellent work.

I haven't always lived in sunny California...only a year and a half. I'm a professional musician turned physicist...go figure. During my years as a musician I moved around alot. I've lived in St. Louis, New York City, Boston, and England. While in NYC I played a one week gig in Peekskill...don't ask me when...I'm not telling. :) Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is...been there...done that. :D

I agree with John though...it really doesn't matter where you live, if you're willing to do the research on the area you are modelling.

Cheers,

I agree too. I am modeling the Cumbres & Toltec, but live in the middle of NY state. never been to NM, and am going by only pics, videos, and books and yet I feel it it a good representation. Trainz is an art that does not require you to have seen the real thing:)

And judging by the pictures, zorronov has done an excellent job recreating the hudson, which I have actually seen:D

Where did you get the Pacific 4-6-2 steam? The one with the round cylinder on the front top?

Very nice Zorronov! One of my favorite places to go is Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park to watch Amtrak go under the bridge there and watch the freight on the west bank. You should check out the video, Hudson River Lines, it has a lot of Metro North and Amtrak action as well as a Conrail freight, set in the days when Metro North still ran SPVs (and FL9s deadheaded them, hehe.)

Thanks for the tip tbob! I'll look for the dvd. The more resources...the better. :)

@ rwk...The pacific is Marlboro's great K5b...available at VMD's website.

Cheers,
Zorronov

I'll be watching when you get to Beacon. I helped build the bridge over the tracks to the train station and part of the station. Had a lot of up close encounters with Metro-North trains. Metro-North was a good company to work with. They were very accommidating when it came time to swing steel or move heavy machinery over the tracks. Not like Conrail.

Great Norm! It's still a long way to Beacon from here, but I'm headed in the right direction. :D I can certainly use your expert eye when I get there.

Elliot...those signals are on the DLS. Do a search for author ID "csxt4617" and you'll find them. You'll have to browse through them because there are quite a few brackets and lights...too many to list here. :)

Great shot there! I'll have to get up my nerve and buy that loco soon. Been thinkin about it for too long!:)

looking great! now i finaly have a pc that can actually run it.

John:)

Congrats on your new pc John. Welcome to the brave new world. Admittedly, this route will require hardware that is fairly contemporary. I am, however, trying to keep the framerates as high as possible. Wish me luck! :)
