Hudson River Route (Warning Large Images)

Thanks everyone. I've gotten the terrain generated and track laid on both banks of the river down to Peekskill, which will be the southern end of the route. There will be a lot of tunnels, bridges, viaducts, and causeways to drive over and under. :)

Looks very very awesome so far. I had wanted to do such a route but alas, it seemed like too monumental a task for the moment. Your's seems really cool so far.

Holy Mackeral! Where'd the textures go? :D

As you can see, I've erazored the route down to the bare baseboards and am going to start over with texturing. There are a few changes I want to make and I think getting rid of the underlying topo textures that got installed when the map was generated is a good idea. I'm trying to keep the framerates as high as possible. I've also installed the first station...

Just a quick comment. On the hillside add a little variation in the texture and maybe add some trees or bushes to make it look more realistic.
 
Thanks Marc. I agree. When I get a hill finished I'll post a pic. Meanwhile, here's a water level shot with new textures...

Ahhh...I've been wondering when someone was going to ask that question. That's actually the way they were during the NYC days...down low like that. I don't know why they did it. Maybe it was to keep from blocking the view of the passengers on the 20th Century Limited. :)
