Can someone explain why it is that when I logon here the set of boards under 'maintenance of way support' is shown, but if I don't logon it isn't and when I do logon and then click the TRS2006 link I get another nag screen telling me I can't access that forum/board? What is this all about? Whatever happened to the early forum which was easy to search (no silly characters to resolve and type in to prove I'm human!) and easy to browse! This one sucks!

If you don't login the forum treats you as an unregistered visitor. I believe that if you are not registered for TRS2006 you will not get into that forum.

Incorrect, I am only registered with UTC & TRS2004 but can access all areas including TRS2006 & TC.

As far as I am aware, the forum does not entertain guests, so if you don't log-on (hence proving you are registered) the forum will not be open to you.
(does it hurt to log-on ?)

If you are logged in & find you can't access all the sections, then you need to contact the "Helpdesk", they can then sort it out for you.

Babies "Suck", leaches "Suck", this forum doesn't.

:hehe:

Mr. Heir of Bill Gates is getting very stubborn with this forum sucking. I don't see any baby sucking over here, nor we are little lambs sucking and bleating. :hehe:

Please, do not complain if your threads are removed (as your previous one) after you too much sucking.

The bleating side of Alberte

That's OK Dave, none of us knows everything, I learn new things on here everyday, that's why we need this community, if we have a problem, there is
usually someone out there that has solved it in the past, or will help solve it if the answer has not yet been found. :D

[Note the quote button is not working properly for me, hence the lash-up above]

Perhaps this is an Opera thing? Sometimes I just go round in a loop, always ending up at the page that tells me either I've not signed on or I don't have enough privileges to get any further, or that the admin have it in for me!

Well it's clear that none of us know everything and may I suggest that a good start would be to read posts before replying! This is not specific to the quotee above, I just happened to post after him. Yes, I was logged on (as I explained) and yes I am registered with the TRS2006 product, for what that's worth.

So it's clear that these forums suck, in that the software doesn't work. Probably an in-house Auran design.

Anyone with similar experience that has got round the problems?

Then try using a different browser, IE or Firefox for example, there are plenty of alternatives to Opera.

Methinks it's your browser that sucks, not Aurans software. :D

It is quite clear to me that this is not an Opera specific problem as I am using Opera as I write. Hope this helps

Cheers

The forum software, just to be pedantic, is freely available for purchase on the internet, and was not made by Auran.

Well it's a pity that such an undeveloped system was chosen, there are many better examples. No doubt all the icons and so on was a factor, rather than function.

If you have such a disliking for this forum, may I politely suggest that you put your views where the the sun don't shine, and toddle off to another forum that is more to your taste.

:hehe: As I posted elsewhere ( http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showpost.php?p=265329&postcount=38 )

I'm deeply in love with BGIII (the most positive supporting fan of this forum up to date). His/her acute evaluation of cons at this forum dazzles and fascinates me!

You do realise that the forum use the vBulletin software, which is a widely used forum software and could possibly be seen as industry standard.

I hope and trust 'industry' standards are better than this! Please explain why it is, that when I'm logged in, I can view the TRS2004 forum/board but not the TRS2006 one? These boards suck, not just because of the tripe some people write on them either!

You have been told, contact the HELPDESK, they are the only ones who can help you.
If you haven't contacted them, it's your own fault for being too busy moaning on here and saying everything "Sucks".
IMHO the only thing on here that "Sucks", is your attitude, in fact, not only does it "Suck" it "Stinks".

Have you tried basket weaving as a more suitable hobby? I understand the frustration levels can be a little lower and there are a number of classes with a real live instructor who can assist you for a fee.

Cheerio

Thanks for that John. I confess I'm not a patient man, and it doesn't help when the thread fills with clueless chatter that doesn't get to the point.

Is there a basket-weaving forum on here? I wonder if they have problems downloading basket designs, and if everytime they get 2 hrs into weaving a new one it suddenly disappears in front of their eyes!
