Has anyone been successful in getting these locos working in TS12

Loco Dash 8 CSX-2 <kuid2:113556:51101:2> by sporbust

I have busted my chops with PEV's tools, written texture.txt files, found and replaced suitable tga's and bmp's, deleted anything seeming extraneous, and run them thru edit with IE and CMP. If anything, I get even more total errors in the report.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

BTW: I searched threads for those trying to up date Frank's locos, but could find no reference to these.

These were very nice models, and I would like to see them repaired and made available in TS12. There is no intent to deviate from the original, other than to make them TS12 compatible.

I downloaded Loco Dash 8 CSX-2,<kuid2:113556:51101:2> into TS2010. CM3.3 shows these errors:
Error: Unable to load image file 'Env_metal.bmp' for texture 'mesh_body\Env_metal.texture.txt' while validating mesh 'mesh_body\mesh_body.im'
Error: Unable to load primary texture 'mesh_body/env_metal.bmp' for texture file 'mesh_body/env_metal.texture.txt'.
Error: Binary conversion failed for texture resource 'mesh_body/env_metal.texture.txt'.
Error: Unable to load primary texture 'mesh_body/windowpanes.tga' for texture file 'mesh_body/windowpanes.texture.txt'.
Error: Binary conversion failed for texture resource 'mesh_body/windowpanes.texture.txt'.
Error: Unable to load primary texture 'mesh_body/windowsframesil.tga' for texture file 'mesh_body/windowsframesil.texture.txt'.
Error: Binary conversion failed for texture resource 'mesh_body/windowsframesil.texture.txt'.
Error: The kuid '<kuid2:113556:51104:3>' specified in 'bogey' is not of the correct type.
Opened the kuid for Edit in Explorer and checked the mesh file with PEV's Mesh-Text-Viewer. None of those textures are called out except Env_metal texture. Added a copy of Env_metal.bmp then deleted files windowpanes.texture.txt and windowsframesil.texture.txt. The config.txt shows
bogey <kuid2:113556:51104:3> but CM3.3 shows this kuid is for loco UP C40-8 old paint,<kuid2:113556:51104:3>. This loco calls these bogies:
so replace bogey <kuid2:113556:51104:3> with these 2 lines:
bogey <kuid2:113556:51199:1>
bogey-1-r <kuid2:113556:511100:1>
then saved and commited without error. Works ok in TS2010, DCC and CAB modes.

Loco Dash 8 UP- 2 <kuid2:113556:51104:2> is replaced with UP C40-8 old paint,<kuid2:113556:51104:3>

In a recent thread, someone has repaired these assets and is hosting them for download, you might want to search the forums, as I don't recall where.

Bob: Thanks..I will try it again tomorrow...too bleary-eyed to go at it again tonight.

Ed:I found and downloaded the Norfolk Southern units, but nothing comes up on the CSX units. Of course, my search settings may be incorrect, I will try that again tomorrow as well.

Now...it is bedtime for Bonzo.

PEV fixed the problem, which is a mesh issue beyond the scope of his publicly available tools. Thanks to him the NS units available from checkrail.com (click my sig) are now error free in TS10 and TS12 (warnings in TS12, but no errors).

There is no publicly available fix for the CSX units, but you can make them error free yourself by copying the file "mesh_body.im" from the NS units into the CSX ones...

Andy ;)
