This is not in the absolute least Trainz related, but I spent 21 minutes waiting for it to render so I might as well post it, because it came out pretty good I think.

Consider 21 minutes at 640x480....!

Rendered with what?

 John, your pic is in .png format at 1.17mb! I don't think that ImageShack would even handle a pic that heavy...

Using IrfanView to convert the pic to .jpg & dropping the slider down to about 50% would bring it down to Auran CofC specs.

except we are in the screenshot section; where the screenshot rules are different.

Not my point...

 The Screenie Forum allows pixel dimensions above 800x600px, up to 1600x1200px...

The file size desired is between 50,000-80,000bytes. this saves bandwidth, but it is not listed in the CofC. This was requested by a moderator when several pics exceeded 500,000bytes. He only said to "move the slider to about 50%," so I guess that is what he meant.

Right click on any screenie & view the Properties for the size.

This may be why the rendering of the picture took so long, if that is what you meant by "rendering."

Banners have a max dimension of 100x800, file size of 30,720bytes.

Johns screenshot is 1,231,827bytes

hi, ...

This is the Friesenhouse - from the FriesenKlaus....]
Very nice little building. Looks ready to be lived in. Just two questions, the sloped end walls are textured in brick, would they not also be using roof tiles there or is that not a slope? And the flat top of the roof, should there not be a slope and also roof tiles up there?

Holy geeze people. Don't have a cow. I forgot it was in PNG and not jpg, and the old internet was down all day so I didn't get a chance to change it.

And no, the fact it is a PNG has nothing to do with rendering!

Cheers,
John

Your not in trouble...!

 I was curious about what you meant about rendering...the fact that it is a .png file(or if it was a .bmp file) has everything to do with the amount of time it takes to deal with a picture like this.

I don't know if there is something missing or not but all I got was your first post ice and it only had one screen in it of a prime mover and trailer (Safety Truck ). The following post had only "post-it-note" type logos for directupload.net. Is there something I have to reset or what? applegathc comments on it as a nice trailer but there's nothing there to see.
Help

Posted July 13th. Glad someone else had trouble with it and got an answer.:( So now we move on.

Filetype is render independent. The render engine (such as Blender's Internal Render Engine) saves the pixels in the buffer as a raw format, which are then dumped to a format such as PNG or JPG or TIFF or whatever. The only thing dependent is the resolution of the image.

John

It is about that time again.

A Swiss Federal Railways commuter train consisting of a RBDe 4/4 Triebwagen (motor unit) and a Bt 50 Steuerwagen cab control unit. The name in German actually means "New Commuter Train" abbreiviated NPZ. They often bookend up to three standard coaches in the same livery, but they have not left the paintshop yet.
Number of polys: high.
