Mount Morgan Hunslet

Hello,

EDH6, that is one fine locomotive. Keep it up.

After much researching over the course of the weekend, today presented a golden opportunity to commence construction in 3ds max of the 3ft 6in gauge Mount Morgan Mine Hunslet locomotives. Alas; there is no formal diagrams that exist so the majority of the work is taken from measurements that I took of one example at Mount Morgan and from photographs. Here is the handywork so far...

Sman12345,

Not too shaby, rather excellent piece of mesh you got going there, do keep it up. Any considerations at some stage to make a 1900 class RM or 2000 RM?

I will get back to you shortly with the wagon, as i am currently moving houses.

Hmm

Right now, I am actually considering making the 2000 class bogies to go under the current 2000 class available (more realistic ones) But with that said I am actually probably gonna do some Transnet wagons for the 15E....

On that matter has anyone heard from RSA Trainz I know Johan had some amazing mesh's - wondering if I could finish them?

Hey all,

Had this finished for sometime but I totally forgot about it till yesterday, this is one example of railway recycling, from 1904-1925 there was a mass scrapping of 1860-1890s locomotives, one of the things they did was convert tenders into water tanks to transport water to area's in country Victoria and it was a program that went on into the 1970s, that is Steam Loco tenders being used to hold liquids.

This model represents WT numbers 61 to 63 which where D Class tenders converted from 1923 and lasted till 1949, the tenders themselves where built at Phoenix Foundry Ballarat 1888, that's 60 years of service.

Cheers.

Interesting, as from that screenshot; I think you could undertake a Passenger Luggage Driver Trailer which I have drawings but I would argue that the current model is aging and would require a newer much detailed version to incorporate with the TANE backdrop. The narrow gauge bogies would be welcomed for the interim for Queensland based routes. . Take your time, and build at your own pace but keep up the great work so far.

This times its a 20E or a 21E (Visually the same) - I don't have any photos of the 22E as these have only been released in the last week or so :D I am led to believe they look like the 20E/21E. So this cab and design is looking to be the new standard in South Africa!

Is the red crank thing in the middle why UK steam locos don't have the cylinders, but have a rod connecting the wheels? I have always wondered about how they connect the wheels to the drive system, and what drive system it is.

That is the counter-weight for the third, center cylinder. If a loco has no cylinders on the outside, there are at least two (but probably not more) cylinders on the inside. So there would then be two counter-weights on one of the axles.
