GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

I made a little progress on the RL18B (I've decided on B-Type trucks for it). I added a fuel tank and that's all because I have to restart my computer in a minute (Automatic updates).

I made the plows and the fuel tanks, and I'm onto the bogies and horn after this.

Hey iced,

That thing looks absolutely enormous. Im not sure if you are using meters or feet as your scaled, but from the looks of things, the smallest width it could have is 50 ft.

P.S. I don't see any plows that you said you added.

I knew someone was going to say something about that. :p

I'll get it to scale when I get back to work on 'er.

If it's working from plans you want, then Blender's background image feature is very good:

Hi R3,

Well, this looks very, very good, I presume this will be the model you're gonna use for normal mapping.

Greetings from sunny Amsterdam,

Hi Zapperjet

I know that I'm going to have to tweak things to get a bakeable hi-poly model out of this, but at this stage I wanted to concentrate on making as accurate a model as I can. I'm intending to make a separate low poly model and experiment to see just how far I can go with normal maps on the grilles etc.

I know undercuts like the springs etc won't bake without modification, and I haven't yet decided how many polys will make it into the final model (particularly details like the cab footsteps) so haven't fully thought this through for normal mapping, but I'm new to all this so if there are other obvious problems that I'm likely to come up against I'd be very grateful if you could let me know.

Cheers

R3
