;)

that realy looks good! any plans for an interior or will it use the default ? :D once again.. Great work! :hehe:

Awesome. That is usage of the mirror tool or something to similar effect, I presume? I'm still (slowly) grasping the basics of 3d, sorry.

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

I love those Nohabs. It's looking pretty good so far.
One question. Why don't they have a hab?:o What's a hab?:o What does it do?:o Do other trains have one(s):o ? Yes. One question. I'll get my coat.:o :o

I think some ALCo locomotives were built without habs too. The locomotives were unpopular, as most railroads liked engines with habs. This, though not well known, is the reason ALCo went bankrupt.

Its similar to an 'Ig', which is an Eskimo's house with no loo...

Before this gets outa hand completely, the 'Hab' thing is a play on words from a loco called a Nohab, which Crash HUN is modelling rather nicely....

Very nice work, Ice (as usual). What size textures are you using?

Another class 31 shot:

Although it doesn't look that different to previous renders I've re-shaped to front end quite a bit since the last shots. I have some questions for the Blender experts out there:

1. Can anyone recommend the best lighting setup for baking soft shadows?

2. Would anyone like to share their material settings for windows and for typical weathered loco paintwork, with a slight sheen?

Cheers

Well, while the steamshovel is in the beauty parlour :hehe: , I found something I couldn't resist in the current issue of a dutch modelbuilders magazine "De Modelbouwer" I'm subscribed to. It's a Steam Tram Locomotive, build by Maffei, Munich in 1914 on order for the Nederlandsche Tramweg Maatschappij, NTM for short. In total 14 where build over the years and in later life some, after the NTM went bust, where put in service with what would later on become the NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), where they where nicknamed "Hoki Poki" because of poor performance relative to other engines in service those days. The last ones where scrapped in 1950 and sadly none exists today.

I really like the Nohab that Crash HUN is making, I can't wait to see it available as there hasn't been many detailed versions. Will it have a custom interior and custom sounds? I will be looking forward to downloading when it's available.
