GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

 Keep up the good work on the C32-8. You can find images on the internet.

One, Conrail #6612 got into an accident and was rebuilt with a Dash 840B flat top cab.

Thanks! The C32-8's are my favorite GE's, so I know a good bit about them. I remember that 6612 got into the wreck, saw pictures too, and also 6619 was repainted prior to the split due to an accident (I think), so it served its career on NS in blue. Thanks for that link, I should have plenty of pictures. The only spot where I'm really lacking pix is the inside of the cab. If anyone can find some pix of the inside of a C32-8's cab let me know!

Until I get my hands on some pix, I'll be modeling the interior off of the similar C39-8's cab.

 Your welcome, I just learned CR #6612 became CSXT #7477...the real page of images started with the "Images for C32-8." I did not see interior pictures, however it is "probably true" that the CR C39-8 had the same cab. Most all but the first two NS C39-8 locomotives had a reversed cab...bi-directional long hood forward. I like that both CSX and NS used the C32-8 for a short period of time before scrapping or sending to Mexico.

Yep, CSX had 7476-7479 (don't have any pix of 7476 to complete this, but I'm fairly sure that 7477 was the only one to receive a blue patch) and NS had 8543-8548. CSX gave theirs to NS in 2000 or something like that, which is when NS renumbered them to 8460-8469. NS sold them for scrap in November 2001, but one, 8466, escaped to BDLX (I think that's the reporting mark), and later found its way over to Brazil, where it served in yellow and green until 2011, when it had a massive engine failure and was scrapped.

I'm relying on the bi-directional NS cab pix for the electrical cabinets in the back of the cab, and I'm using the conrail cab pix for the front details to get the closest match. Hoping for the best with this project, it's the farthest along of all of them so far.

 It's great to see you have done your research on the model your building!

I saw the Brazilian paint job in the search sad to hear about the engine failure...

Keep up the good work on this model, I like locomotives with V12 engines myself!

With the simularity of carbodies in the two...it seams like a C39-8 is in your future, if Jointed Rail don't beat you to it!

I'm finishing that C32-8, stretching it 3 feet, and changing a few things if they are different, and boom, C39-8. Then I take the C39-8, and give it a dash 9 carbody, and boom, I have the one of a kind C39-9. I can make a lot from this unit.

Problems

Alright, I am just finalizing the texture tweaks on the model and the shadows. However, I am having a hard time remembering how to fix a reoccurring problem:

When view close surfaces, the mesh blends well, but upon scaling out, gaps between the mesh repeats become very apparent. I could have sworn I fixed this problem earlier, but I can not remember how. I am hoping someone here can give me some quick advice.

Thanks, great shots all! :D

Nice job Trainman! One question from me though. Anyone know how to properly use Rubytmix? I got it installed but after I click "Export to Trainz" Nothing happens, any advice?

Thanks, and there should be a setup option or Trainz Config setup you have to setup before exporting the model. I currently dont have it installed in my Sketchup pro 8.

During WWII many E open wagons where converted into S Flat wagons for carrying Military stuff, numbers 3-115 or so, after WWII many where rebuilt back into E Open wagons, some of the S Flat Wagons where built into Tankers from late 1940s.

They where built by fitting a Tank that was built at Thompsons Engineering Williamstown mounted to an S Flat Wagon, only 10 where built.

EDIT:

Got the proper bogeys done and uploaded new SS.

Cheers.

Once you have it set up, hit export to trainz. It won't go directly to trainz, it'll go to the RubyTmix Output folder. Open content manager, go to file and hit import content. It'll bring up a bunch of places to bring in content form. Hunt down the output folder, click it, and hit import. Your model will then be in trainz shortly.
