Emergency Assistance Needed: Trainz Failure after Bluescreen

Hi all.

Last night after trying several times to load up Nicky9499's Quahog Sub route, my laptop bluescreened. Everything seems to be ok now, but Trainz will not run correctly. The issues include:

Crashing when attempting to enter Driver
Extreme lag in Surveyor

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks and Merry Christmas

Hi,
It's possible that the crash left the Trains database in an inconsistent state and that it is running a database repair in the background.
The cure for this is patience.

Without details of the laptop, it may be that you are "pushing" it too hard - Trains uses the CPU and GPU hard, so there can be an overheating problem (desktop or laptop:- laptops are generally less well cooled than desktops).

Have a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit, read a book while the programming gets on with the repair

Merry Christmas (?)

The DB Repair should take care of any inconsistencies. Go into Content Manager when the repair is completed and check for errors. You may see a bunch of false errors so highlight them and view errors and warnings. That wil remove the errors from the assets.

Outside of the database issue, I am concerned that your machine may have other problems. It maybe collecting dust and dirt in the bottom fans. Once these clog, your machine will crash particularly if they have clogged the GPU heat pipe and fan. You may want to take your machine to a repair shop or call in the repair center and have them do a little laptop cleaning. If it was a desktop, you could do it easily yourself, but laptops are not as easy to work on because of the way they are made.
