Dresden Valley Railroad - A new scenic small layout

You for sure capture all the fine details....Very nicely done :Y:

Keep up the good work

Funny you should ask, I finished the route 100% last night, which involved adding scenery to much of the opposite side of the creek.

Here are some shots from that side, along the CSX line.

A pair of ES44DC's descend the slight grade towards Stone Acre from York PA and the East, the track skirts the edge of the creek at this point.

The more industrial north side of Stone Acre with the ex PRR station visible to the right hand side, now converted into a restaurant.

A closer look at the station restaurant, now called "The Crossbuck". Only a few hungry rail fans occupy the old platform at this time of year, before it is closed off for the winter.

A CSX consist crosses Main St, on the opposite side north of the historic town center.

Same street, looking south this time, into town.

Northwest of Stone Acre.

Looking the opposite way, we see Route 30s bridge over Dresden Valley.

Well, thats it folks, I hope it gives you a good idea of the route, I will look into getting it onto the DLS for those of you who use 2009.

If this was my route, I would be laying BNSF Invisatrack in all the roads, and would be riding around town in Driveable Cars: (Superadaptor-Porsche) viewing this route in the cars cab view...superb hometown details ! And Walker1 Lead Pedestrian, & Walker2 Pedestrian's, would be roaming all about, on Invisatrack. Now all you need is a trolley transit system...hint, hint...and I'll be completely floored !

Curious what texture is used on the lawn and is the leaf pile yours?
The leaf pile can be found on the DLS, as can the ground texture, search under Autumn.

I like the idea of the invisatrack, will look into that.

I do have some animated pedestrians in the Main St already, may add more though.

Trolley System might be a little much for a small town in the current day. One of the main things I was aiming for with this was to not overdo how much the railroad featured, just enough to make it interesting to run.

Thanks for the comments guys, am quite busy nowadays, last couple of days of Uni before Christmas, but will see about getting it on the DLS soon though.

Keep us posted on the "animated pedestrian's" (where are they available from)...you should get (free) FRAPS and make, and post a video on YouTube of your route:cool:

Did that for the groundtexture. Was curious because it looks like it might be one of mine and if so, I am working on fixed ones that are scaled better, what gives it away is I can see the leaves are bigger than the man's foot, I didn't know how to scale things when I did them.
