Content Manager Plus Won't Open In TRS2006

I'd just saved my session and exited the game and went to run Content Manager Plus to save it to CMP, and i got this error. "Content Manager Plus has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Go to your Auran/trainz/2006 folder and delete your assets.tdx file and your assets.bku file (if you have one). Open CMP again and wait for it to rebuild the database, give it plenty of time, don't harass it with mouse clicks. When the database is rebuilt it will open.

Same Error...

No go. I tried that and although it creates a new asset file it bombs out with the same error almost instantly as the small box comes up saying its loading the assets.

Also, just to help anyone help me with this problem, TrainzDiag gives me all Passes and only 1 Warning. The warning is to update my video card drivers which it says are 13 months old, but i already have and the driver date is still the same so i cant do anything about it.

And TRS2006 runs fine so its definitely a CMP error/problem.

CMP requires a robust OpenGL installation. If you have a driver warning, that may be the problem.

yea only mine says content manger plus (NOT RESPONDING) every time i try to download or register my serial number i hate it!

Ok i'm going to remove my video drivers and re-install them to see if that does it or not.

TrainzDiag still insists everything is ok other than that error.

I have 3 drivers for my video card. Im going to try them all. If they all install fine and still give this error then its not a video driver problem.

Also, i still have content in TRS2006 that i dont want wiped. Can someone tell me where this content would be stored in case i have to try a re-install of TRS2006?

Why is it that everyone claims CMP is so bad, when mine has been running smoothly (with the exception of a few irritating 'not responding' moments) for 3/4 of a year now?

Whistlehead: Im not saying its bad, im just having a problem with it.

Okay heres the update.

I have 3 drivers for my video card.

1. The original CD that the card came with
2. Latest Motherboard Drivers which came with Video Drivers that worked
3. Latest video drivers for the specific card.

I've tried #3, and it didnt work. Same error. Ive also tried these but still get the same error.

1. Reinstalled VBA Runtimes
2. Reinstalled C++ 2008 Redistributable
3. Reinstalled .NET 2.0 Framework

I'm going to wipe it and re-install, but i need to know if i copy my content to another machine will i be able to access it and save it to CMP, provided the computer has Content Manager Plus and TRS2006?

The files i need saved before the re-install are called:

1. New Weddin
A. config.txt
B. mapfile.bmk
C. mapfile.gnd
D. mapfile.obs
E. mapfile.trk

These are located in my /TRS2006/editing folder.

Okay guys, I have a problem. I've managed to back up the Route I was working on. Then i did a complete re-install of TRS2006. And i still get the same error. I've heard it could be a registry thingy somewhere so I'm going to get a registry cleaner to search it then re-install Trainz again. And if that doesn't work, then i guess I'm looking at a complete wipe and install XP again. I'm not looking forward to that.

It's inevitable for me now...

I've just tried all 3 versions of my video drivers, as well as full scans with Registry Mechanic, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Ad-Aware 2008, just in case, and it still wont open. I'm going to try and download a newer version of OpenGL and if that doesnt work I'm going to wipe the drive and start from scratch.

P.S. I had it running fine before on XP SP2 and when i put on SP3 it ran fine also. While i was playing the game crashed twice when i derailed a train and when i went back into the maps with Surveyor, i noticed certain trains werent where they were supposed to be, and two of them had the Red Exclaimation Mark above them. And that was in Surveyor. I'm not sure if that is related or not.

Sorry to bump, but this kind of fits under this category. I can't get the launch trainz button to work in CMP. and, in case you are wondering make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements and is over them- CMP runs incredibly slow on the minimum requirements. And, what graphics card are you using? ATI graphics cards have glitches with TRS2006. And, what OS are you running it on? I found that it works the best on Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3 installed. It has worked flawlessly without many problems on Windows XP.
