Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

thanks Bob, but it seems you are many times the only interested. Taking shots is not just shoot one it takes time and care and look for right position like Casper

Roy

Roy, The texture work in that last shot is beautiful. It’s hard to imagine the scale of the project you’ve taken on. All of your shots make feel like I’m right in the western Canadian mountains. ‘Very realistic and very well done!
Gordon

thanks Gordon appreciated! funny though i have never been there except 1 time Vancouver for an exhibition long time ago and than even not take some time off...I regret now.:'( but it seems it must be close enough to the real thing to get responses like yours:cool:
But i think most trainzers have little clue what it takes to make (and on top make it work and still look good) something like this on a scale and size like this when released you will understand what i try to say for 2.000 some km:eek:

Roy n Ning:)

Personaly, I got interest in your route and your route is still on my ''must get'' list. You were supposed to release it as a payware at the end of last year if I remember. I know things went wrong for a while so ... maybe some folks look at it and are just waiting...and forget to press the ''post quick reply'' button to say some encouraging words.

This route is great, you make an amazing work. I know how it is time and attention consuming since I'm working on my own QCR route. It also takes much time to make some plan when we need a specific building.

Keep it coming !

I think you are wrong there :). I have to admit that I for one had not posted a "nice work" reply in your topic yet, so let me correct that with this reply.

I absolutely love your work and can only hope to one day be able to have it in my collection and/or develope half the skill you got.
When I notice you posted an update, I usually skip the rest of the screenshots forum and start with checking this topic.
If I talk with people about Trainz and want to show them what is possible, I usually end up looking up your topic and show them your screenies of the last few pages.

I just dont like making the same post as others, but I am more then happy to reply to your topic on a semi-regular basis with a "Nice work!" if that makes us able to keep enjoying your new screenies :D.

Roy's Canadian Classics routes are comin to a place near you 2012 4 sure!!

rail4pete one word wow thanks and let me give more detail on what i really meant in my qoute about replies!i am not fishing for compliments rather more looking for some interaction like thoughts, first and 2nd impressions, suggestions anything that makes us grow or at least get confirmation things are looking right and can move on. There is a simple reason as my route(s) is huge but working perfectly on TS12 without a doubt and makes me enormous excited every day I run 100 cars long consists in 5 opr 6 consists up and down this route. Testing is time consuming and my eye is not forgiving any missed detail or just opf a little bid but Ning says to mkove on and leave that for the updates later.
The reason for a late release is manyfold bu most important texture and spline bugs I have to replace/repair. The good thing about that is that it now looks even better than before way better so bad things happen for a good than unknown reason.
Islowd down myself too to bring the entire route 2 notches higher in detail which believe when running standard monitor or my zalman 3D stereo in an IMAX like atmosphere i wish I could share with you trainzers.
Another main reason for delay is to make sure 200% that any hidden bugs are discovered in TS12 which I did and can now "safely" finish this open with a fairly good feeling of this is the best I could do so far!
this weeks tests of the kicking horse river section of route nr 4 is where most textures were happily:'(:hehe: replaced a must and alomst finished and looking awesome to admit. Ning is out of this world when she see the trainz run in this more than realistic world of mine.
So this all said is you guys do like Ning and I do like in the screenshot contest not only give people a vote but like Ning suggested long time ago and doing actively vote for encouragement and be active3 in saying some words of advice or impressions where neede to help those not always at the top.
To myuself I am more than amazed surprised many times my pick of picts is many times different appreciated or not at all where I want to show not only a nice shot but also the complexity and crossing trainz boundaries but people not see it sadly to say.It isd not about winiing the screenshot which i did quite a few times but the undserstanding and appreciation of the work put in there. I am a real sportsman and played hocky with an all canadian nato team way back in time when young in Europe ands know what it takes to get to the topin sport, business and hobby.
Pete thanks again aprreciate very much your reply. Ning says hello too!:)

appreciate most your honest staight forward reply. most answered in my reply to rail4pete i think.
most important for achieving something be it job, hobby,s[port whatever is by doing it and outdoing yourself each time over and over again and steel discipline and most important never give up.
last year i did put some videos under my TRS2009 nickname pinkiepienter on youtube but it is to much time consuming I rather finish my project first and than make some movies of th best seen in trainz.
know you not have to say nice work but interactive thoughts and feelings help most in taking the next hurdle.
keep up the good work yourself and like a real old flying dutchman de mazzel en tot mails.

groetjes

Ning n Roy:)

Roy,

As I have said before I think this route is exceptional. I do have a question though. On something as big as this and with so much detail how will you know when it is finished and be able to "let go"? Will there not always be a temptation to keep editing it forever!!!:D

Bob

There is a kind of code freeze too

No I have also a kind of code freeze too called my wife. She looks over my shoulder when testing or repairing or discovering some not wanted easter eggs (less and less) and tells me enough leave these little critters for the next cosmetic (monthly/quarterly:hehe:) update move on you never finish and she laughs but answers clear and loud!
YES the more and more you work frequently on things and gain exponentionally more experience and feeling for arranging and rearranging corners/regions on a sometimes vast scale the tendency is redo more than needed.
Example river, forest and rock formations are typical sinners when finding the correct rotation, blend, touch, mix you name it and say wow you want to do the entire rocky mountains so to speak but hmm curse kind off and enjoy the sweet little victory.
Yesterday in my replies to the very kind encouraging and most rewarding answer from fellow trainzers like "waiting for this must have" makes me go that extra mile every day i have time for trainz and speed up if that is possible.

This I wonna say too that for those interested in my techniques how to do things I will start a Roy's Cananadian Classics Trainz Art Academy:hehe::cool: here in NE Thailand for those interested in a trainz and exceptional (holiday in the real Thailand) and include sessions/lessons in How to do it my way.
For those with a facebook interest have a look at my Hard Rock Trainz boutique hotel and yes I have a Hard Rock cafe here too with a view over the entire Kao Wong Valley crater (4 million years old)!

By times I feel like I am 9 years again and thrilled to stand in front of the big window at the trainshop and awe for minutes and dream away. Now a "few" years later My window is my wish running it in a fashion never dreamed of would be possible back than.

Bob thank you for the kind support and no one will be disappointed when this comes out in a first ever release of a route of mine in the year 2012:)

OMG is this community real or virtual.... Very nice gesture dear Cody most appreciated honest.
Many times I wonder why JR and or others kind of neglect loco'sand sorts for Canada like out of space like in the real world lol.

Yeah i know what you mean but i dont think they are forgetting about you, there may be other reasons as to why they cant make CN or something. Not sure. Don't want to step on anyone's toes. But i will try my best to make a couple nice switchers for you to have and use.

When ready this route gonna be more than fun to run looks more like a complete addiction:eek:

Roy n Ning;)

Very well done you guys! This is a BEAutiful route! BTW how did you get those camera angles to look curved?
MTW:) (just got back from the rodeo/ concessions, need to get some sleep:sleep:)
PS. Great job!!!

... how did you get those camera angles to look curved?

Roy I love your screenshots and the route looks absolutely fantastic, but I too was wondering about the curved lines and oval wheels. I reckon you are running fullscreen with a resolution which is not the same aspect ratio as your monitor. It's be worth checking, your screens would be even better if correctly proportioned...

Andy ;)

must be the url from my FB page that squeezes things wrong

hmm these days I would guess 2 beer, one tequila but that is not doing the job here right? lost normally you can and i do once in a while driverfov up high to get sort of fisheye for panoramic views but not now. Screenshot is 1980x1050 like monitor but I use lately the url from my FB page maybe this one squeezes the pict to an undisclosed size sort off... Honest i did not noticed the oval wheels when you look closer yes sort of but not dramatic.. is this one better? using imagshack and downsize it to regular 1600x1200 like most I did before.
trainz2012041409522066.jpg

yep its the url copied from fb that squeezes the pict in a funny way.
Thanks anyway and thanks for the kind words and yes the route is getting along well. the last miles are the toughest like real life things:hehe:

Roy;)
