Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

trainz TS12 to a new height level

thanks Ed as always very much appreciated and we try to keep up the good work to end this year for official release of the First section of almost 2.000 km of prime Canadian rocky Mountains track n scenery ever seen on Trainz or any simulator existing.
Testing and "clean up/repair" is in full swing now and I can garantee you when this comes out on the market Trainz TS12 will get ranked absolute # 1 train(z) simulator worldwide by leaving competition if any in disbelieve and stunned completely numb :hehe::'(:udrool:

warmest regards,

Roy n Ning

Thank you so much bob

He my good friend Bob! Ning and I enjoy reading the very warm well meant replies and see with joy your pictures and how you grow a lot!! If you have a chance try to replace assets since you have ts12 now and look into pofigs libs, play with them and see that this is really what you need for any of your routes you are working on now.

Thanks again for the flattering comment!:udrool:

best regards

Roy n Ning;)

Feel the Leonardo Da vinci of trainz

Keep up the incredible work joosten!

I am almost shy to say but thanks for the incredible support guys. This section the Mountain sub is about just under 400 km and route # 4 out of 5 which makes the Vancouver - Calgary just under 2.000 km or even more of track (not counted exaclty yet).
the work on this section alone is close to or just over 4 years and the entire route 7 years so far. This sections is still in the planning for release in 2012 on TS12 followed by the route # 5 Field Calgary going east. Later on # 3, 2 and the final cherry on the cake # 1 the biggest of them all the Greater Vancouver area which is huge and full of incredible industries to handle and battle traffic.

thanks again for hopping by and supporting my "masterpiece":hehe:

best regards

Roy n ning;)

Roy: I need your expert advice on something, it is off topic I hope you don't mind..How do you do Olegkhim's switches??How do you put them together?? Looking forward to your reply..Your Friend..Bob

Ed this picture is dedicated to you my best Trainzer friend amoung many others

Spectacular work Roy! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ed, that gives energy for countless efforts of cleanup n repair from older versions and ugly bugs screwing many textures orientation and make them look like cheap repeats of some stupid texture. 40 km to go not even talking about the spline bug which shows up from time to time. But lets face it its huge and carried all the way from 2004 so complaining no not at all just tired sometimes and wish it was done. But i am a sort of perfeectionist and cannot just ignores imperfections along the track for sure:hehe::sleep::confused::cool:

just testing a stretch from Ottertail back to Golden and fixing stuff and reorientate textures and run a train to see the results

Absolutely incredible shots as always, Roy. Just curious, what kind of NASA-grade computer do you use to run this route?

He kamran yes the rivers in general on my layouts tend to be close to or even somtimes very realistic. It all depends on how much time you wonna spent on tweaking looking refining over and over again till it fools the eye enough to give that touch with the correct textures and from the correct angle. Sometimes it looks cheap but if far away from the track it is not always that important. But since in the rockies the track has been laid most time following the river i have only one choice make the river look like ocemy's trainz cool and crispy:hehe:

Did tested it 2 weeks ago on mys sons Acer Aspire 4 year old notebook WOW

Thanks Carfreak4 thank you but here is the amazing surprise most people won't believe.
to develop this megalomano route of more than 2000 km full 3d prototypical takes more than just guts and knowledge and of course time. For the development it needs a good strong computer and here are the specs:
  1. Asus rampage III
  2. Gygabyte GTX 580
  3. Few 1 TB sata hd
  4. Intel x25 M sata SSD 80 GB for testing route superfast!
  5. zalman 3D monitor with superb stereo 3D view
This config we configured and bought in Bangkok 2 years ago all in for about 3k usd which is more than you can wish for for that money and service.

Yes this kind of desktop you need to run extensive tests and develope routes like thisand it works flawless.

2weeks ago we used my sons Acer aspire 44xx i forgot the exact number here but a 4year old notebook not for high end gaming just a sweet and fast normal notebook for a price than he told me around 650 euro...... Well what we saw trainz running untuned not tweaked at all at fps you only could say WOW,WOW holy cow.
It made me feel very good since my original thoughts and concept of my route designs where made in such a way that despite the enormous amount of data and detail it should still run well to very well which was proven on this Aspire. what a sweet feeling you can imagine seeing running ocemys heavy detailed contrainertrainz fully loaded 100car consists as if it was made for it.
I remember me testing last year on my very old Acer travelmate 8810 was it? i was already chocked it run not very well but run at descent fps but that ati card in their was a toaster already when I bought but the heck most people today have more than descent computers desktops and notebooks alike and the hardware only gets better and not always more expensive so do you need NASA grade computers ??? Noo i tend to say to follow Virgin airlines concept and fly to space with the new designed lightweight superplanes to space i.o. Nasa dinosaur spaceship should be retired indeed.

Joosten: I want thank you for giving me the right path on Olegkhim, very nice thank you..Your Artistic Ability is improving, you are doing some of the neatist stuff I've ever seen..Go joosten Go..

I have real moments of being tired not because working on progress on going forward which is most rewarding but falling behind or back or worse having to redo things over and over again of flaws left n right in the sw.
The worst part is textures kind of resetting themselves during transition and or running some chemo like therapies QDR or EDR which kills things needed but with side ffects not wanted at all and not seen till you go back to these places and almost start cry, no joke.
The other one is the spline bug which I think started already in 2009 version if I am correct which disconnects for sure in TS12 animated switches or bug them beyond repair which means just deleting inv splines to make the switch work is not enough as the built in got hit.
It is easier than just delete and replace with all inherent action to complete the step.
Now if it is only a few switches I would cry for it but if you have classification yards and more to repair I give it to you to where you need all your energy and time to finish in glamour this piece of art, but this reality and part of the conquer Mount Trainz highest peak.
So those out there just waiting for ridiculing, criticizing and complaining about imperfections of sortz well it is not the author running short of dsicipline to correct things or improve but the inability of going through every single basemap(thousands) m2 or square yard check for worms....
When this route # 4 reach the finish line which should be not to long from now I will keep you guys informed but for now like in a marathon not crossed the finish line yet can see it though...:o
