Bridgehampton Metro - UK Light Rail / Modern Tramway in Progress

On my Bridgehampton Routes I have used two methods:

-On the large modules I have typically laid out a few blank boards, then added watercourses and any hills, then laid a handful of road splines and textures to work out roughly where the main roads and town centre would be. I've then worked to this rough plan, ammending as necessary. I usually try to get most of the track and streets with track done failry early in the piece, but I fill in with scenery and details as the mood takes me.

-On smaller modules, I just start at a point (probably an intersection or station), and build out without any real plan.

When you say subway directly underneath light rail, are you looking for square cut and cover type tunnels? Andi06's M type tunnel is quite good for this, and can be combined with the sub-surface walls from his station kit (which I have reskinned into two variants). I'm sure there are loads of others, but I haven't had much call...

Thanks.

No I won't be making a re-skinning tutorial:
1 - Too busy with other stuff.
2 - I'm really not that good at it - I've only ever done a handfull of reskins.

There are other tutorials about - search the forum - though I doubt if any are on youtube.

Very near finished now, but I have a load of content to finish off and release...

How did you change the signs on the Citadis trams? I have been trying to do this for ages with no luck.

Plus, where'd you get the arrows on the pavement? I once had them---but now lost track of them. I have a sneaking feeling they're built into TS2010, but I'm too oblivious to find them :hehe:

By the way, I am re-working that subway-underneath-tram portion of my downtown fictional route. I discovered with Jeff Morris' 1904 IRT layout that it's possible to sink the subway tunnels in a trench and make the terrain flat above the tunnel, making them show up only in wireframe view. This way they are "truly" underground. It was like a eureka moment for me!

Good work on the Bridgehampton route Paul! Very amazing!

Accidentally - it turns out that the Change Destination Sign command works on it (kuid2:206816:99003:1)

They are by engfer, and they are on the DLS here: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_packcontents.php?AssetPackID=8734 "ETS Symbol Pfeil"

I've used the AJS station kit and AJS tunnel kit to get mine underground. Works well for me...

Yes - there are some basic ones on the DLS already for TRS04. The complete set will be for TS2009, and will probably come out early in the new year. I've got over 200 variants, but I'm less than halfway through...

G'day Paul!

Unfourtunately, I cannot get my hands on those trams... The links are broken. All I get is a 404 Not Found or a webpage that has nothing to do with Trainz at all... :(

But on the other hand, I am Downloading the Westhaven Tram right now! :)
But I have lots of unknown dependencies to go through!

Cheers! :)

Jake.

They look like ATLS Traffic lights search on the DLS for the Username Boat or ATLS and you should find them no probs :D

A few more from Bridgehampton Coastal:

p.s. Just had another run - don't know why, but my sessions last about 10 minutes and grind to a 0.1fps halt... :-(

Beautiful as always - but it does appear to be a little lacking in the foliage part in places, and that seafront scene looks very empty. I'd recommend some raised brick flower beds and a few rubbish bins, and of course, a few people.

But then, this is still in development - as in, "not finished". I suspect you have other ideas for it.

Thanks - this area is still fairly new, and I haven't fully detailed it yet. I do find that some UK seafronts look pretty empty away from the centre of town (for instance palces like Bispham, north of Blackpool), so it won't look too busy...
