Bewildering Turnout Problem

I have a yard throat with quite a lot of turnouts.

One of them is a problem. I have used different switch machines and levers
and all give the same problem, but just with that one location.

The turnout shows the Green Arrow going left, but the train goes right.

If the arrow is right, the train goes left... ALWAYS!

I have edited, moved, changed levers, and stood on my head. Nothing changes.

What causes this unusual problem. It's a new one on me.

Hi Al,

This can be bewildering no less, but relatively easy to fix. The cause is simply the track that's going left is actually going right just a smidge, and not the levers at all. In fact the switch levers are doing exactly what they are meant to do. You can try adjusting the track and see if that works, but usually it's faster to relay the track for the turnout.

This can happen when both "legs" are curved the same way. Try laying it with one leg straight and then bend it.

Oh the difference one lousy spline point can make... :D

Gentlemen, you have solved my dilemma.
All now works as planed. It is amazing sometime how this thing works, or doesn't work.

Now I'm wondering if this might somehow be related to the coupling problem that
in many cases refuses to go past a signal.

Some red signals are treated as 'Stop', while others under the same sort of circumstances
are treated as 'Stop and Proceed'.

That's another long term pain in the mouse.
