No you are quite correct. The reason is that the train, a special, is on the wrong line. It is running on the Metropolitan line which uses normal height stock as opposed to the deep level stock hence the discrepancy....Is it me, but the doors on this this London Underground 38 stock, don't seem to match the platform height?
Yup, that's Brtish Railways' Standard 5MT design, with Caprotti valve gear. 5 is the power classification (goes from 0 to 9, so these locos are in the middle) and MT stands for 'Mixed Traffic'.I like it.
I really like these things by the way. I think it is called a Standard Five or something like that, but it has awesome Caprotti Valve gear, which I really like. Plus it looks beefy.
