Here lately I've been noticing some members with "Banned" for their user title. I know most of the people with the title are genuinely banned, but recently there are folks like deadpoolmx55, atsf854, and hert who are obviously not banned - they're still posting! - and who now have this user title. Have I missed something?

Band might have been more subtle.:D

I guess the word Banned, when properly assigned by Admin, is a signal that the individuals concerned, for whatever reason, are in the hall of shame.

I came back after a few months break, and was surprised to see one member genuinely banned. At first I thought he was joking and had put up the word himself, but apparently not. I'm still wondering why.

So perhaps trying to kid people along that you have been banned is not such a smart thing to do.

Maybe the software could be programmed so that only Admin can apply that word. We'd then know that when it appears, it really means what it says.

I wasn't upset about it, just confused. Of course, everyone is free to put whatever they want to in their user title. If you think it's fun, by all means, have your fun.

i honestly think that you guys are making mountains out of mole hills here. it shouldn't be such a big that it gets own thread. its like aweee im telling mom, your grounded and you still went outside to play!!!

when that isn't even the case.

Not exactly sure it's a hall of shame. Some consider it some sort of badge of honor....they like to be known as the bad boys of the forum....and now with so many putting it in themselves, it's lost some of it's original intent.
