Bakersfield To San Bernardino

Hi Joe,
Those are impressive images. Just one railroad piece you have yet to show on the route. And that is Amtrak's Southwest Chief. Then again, maybe it doesn't use Cajon Pass.

Rest assured, it does. No other way northeast out of SoCal besides the UP Sunset Route (Sunset Limited travels on that one). IIRC, the Southwest Chief travels BNSF's Transcon route, from Los Angeles to Chicago.

-Also just to let everyone that doesn't know, I am miles away from cajon pass. I am currently working on the Mojave Sub. The only time you will see amtrak on the mojave sub is during contruction... in other words a re-route!

Hallo,

could I ask where you got this houses? I just need a whole set of such residential buildings to build the Town of Othello, Wa in my Milwaukee Road Othello – Kittitas section.

Again, great shots!!!!
Your's TUME

I'm taking the Southwest Chief next weekend and I hope to god there's no rerouting. I'm gonna be taking tons of pics out the back to catch all the signals I can!

People were saying there might be re-routes so I could potentially be on this line. I could take some pics out the back if we get re-routed.

I'm just trying to help out man,

Davis

IF you mean you are tying to go through the Loop via Amtrak, im sorry but your out of luck. No regular passenger trains have run through since before the fall of the Southern Pacific. I, and pretty shure others here, apriciate you efforts, but it is nearly imposible to get lucky on a re route. Sorry

Okay they were re-routing recently due to that massive double tracking job going on and then again for washouts but maybe everything is cleared up now. Oh well, not a discussion for here,

Davis

@ strench707: It's the Coast Starlight that would go over Tehachapi for a reroute (that has happened only a couple times), not the Southwest Chief.

@ socalwb909: Cable is looking great! I can hear the engines rumbling from here! You are really bringing the Tehachapi and Cajon Passes to life. Keep up the MIGHTY FINE work! :Y:

-Thanks everyone for your comments! I really appreciate it!
-Here's some history about the Tehachapi Loop!
-Burlington Northern Radio Controlled Helpers at the Tehachapi Loop.
-In the 1970's, the Southern Pacific was experimenting with radio controlled helpers between Bakersfield and West Colton. The railroad borrowed some of the BN's radio control master SD40s and slave B units.

-Sorry about the background draw distance, but really its not my fault and we all know who is to blame!!!

Nice! You almost nailed that picture.
The only thing you were off by what I could tell is that the closist tunnel motor was Cotten Belt in the picture, while your's is SP.

Nonetheless very very nice!

Thats fantastic Joe. You've captured the area perfectly! Although I rekon you should turn the click clack sound off if you haven't already. But I'm amazed at the speed and consistency you're working at!:D
