hbl I knew it was the old loop line by the hillside in the rear of shot was a give away as i have themed to my work included Swanbank section of the old loop line in my Ipswich map, my version is prior to QPSR being set up out at Swanbank. ghosty

I've got a copy of the local ARHS rag I left out at the QPSR Depot the other day that had a fairly meaty article about the Swanbank branch and the Redbank-Bundamba coal loop line...I'll get it when I'm out there on Sunday, scan it and email it to you if you'd like. It's got some really good photos and has diagrams of each of the sidings for the mines that were on those two lines if you're keen on doing them as part of your route.

I'm doing mine present-day, so they aren't much use to me! ( the Swanbank branch was re-routed in a few places in the 1970s when they started to transport coal to the power station by rail)

thats only a proof of concept image the end product may look nothing like that at all and of course it should be ready for release when its done some time when its finished.

Also looking for photos of locos carrying head boards - ie of other named trains apart form the Newcastle flyer and Central west which i have photos of thanks

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newcastle_Flyer has the headboard used by **STEAM** locos but if you are hunting for headboards on locos you maybe resulting in steamers only? The 46 class hauled Newcastle Express did not seam to usually have a headboard but did have a name broad on the second car eg http://www.westonlangford.com/images/photo/100842/ and similar in my 46 class book suggest no name boards on the front loco.

A few other NSW trains had the name board on a carriage mid train and no hardboard on the loco. That may restrict what is available for your project. The Southern Aurora even had a tail name board.

Some steam locos had a "trial" headboard as the loco was on test. Bit different style to the Newcastle express nameboard.

Tripple 80 class climbing a step grade

GREAT WORK ON THESE OLD WORK HORSES THANKS They run rings round the older 2004 model but trainz has come a long way since then the only fault a have is the driver sits to high in the cab would look good with driver and observer in the cab and you cannot switch ends using alt c one more thing on the green and blue 442 class cannot get the running numbers to work.

thanks for the feedback - you will not get the runnnng numbers to work or change on the 422 green or red as this was not part of the orginal model the mesh is pre the time when ARN was a common

I assume you mean well photographed as in frequently - I'm going to take your words and say that you've photographed that location very well indeed! What a stunning landscape, to the point that the train is merely another element in what is an amazing looking location. Bravo, sir!
