Australian screenshots

Stop passing off photos of the real thing as in-game screenshots! :hehe: j/k!

Seriously though, that is absolutely amazing Kentith - I really did think it was a photo. Stunning work! :D

Nice work too Ghosty. I like how you got the power poles in that shot.

So i have just Emailed Pacific National to enquire about employment in the Pacific National Bulk Terminus at Port Waratah, I hope they accept 16 year old's, I cant wait to hear back from them :D

Just curious if anyone knows of any ore concentrate containers that might be avaliable on the DLS? These are the type used in NSW in green, orange, maroon, cream or light blue depending on the mine they have originated from. I've been searching on the DLS, but the only things I can find are loose minerals/ores for loading into open wagons.

Cheers Mick.:)

Mick - fantastic news! From what I've seen of your wagon, it looks the goods, so a suitable box to load on it would be the icing on the cake.

Except for V/Line (maybe)
According to my Dad who works for them, V/Line is 21 as well Callum (I believe PacNat is actually 22 as they require you to have your Full Driver's Licence). Metro however take 18 year olds, they just had a month long intake finishing just last week.

For something different, ran 8115 and AN5 on a container train to the container siding near Linton. On arrival at Linton, normally the locomotives run around the train to drive into the siding, then run around and wait for the train to be unloaded and loaded. Of course, I made the train too long... When this happens, the lead unit runs around at Linton and they operate push-pull into the yard. Naturally, this wouldn't work, as when the train is finished loading/unloading, the AN would have to lead out no2 end leading. Thus, I had to run around the AN to the front of the train, instead.

I want to know what clown designed that siding with the points facing away from Sydney...

This is what i can find on them Trent so i reckon that's close enough for what we want mate ?.
Cheers Mick.;)

Mick - that's the ones! I think those are a slightly more advanced design (the 2012 model, for example). I'll upload some more photos tonight for your reference, but I'd say the dimensions are exactly the same, just a few cosmetic, external differences.

EDIT: Have uploaded some examples of the various ore containers:

I don't think many of them have the fancy features that the Kronos ones do (side/end doors), especially not the really old looking CSA Mine containers!

Hi all I know its been like forever since I posted but just dropping by to let you know I;m still working on the Border ranges line from NSW/QLD to Acacia Ridge.

Here are some Screenies .... I have worked out that I have around 1200sq k's to do and I found that copy pasting large area's or even small ones just don't look right, so what you see has been painted by hand I guess like the rest of you do... but Its going to be a huge task...

here are some progress shots taken over the last couple of sessions

Looking west with the big tunnel on the left. and the valley to the right and on to Beenleigh

Looking back along the valley towards the NSW-QLD board and the tunnel.
I know it not much but take a look for the coal train I used as an idea of the area I have covered.. in the last image...

Please be aware that the detail close to the track is very low for now as I plan to cover the BB's first and then get into adding detail later I may do a small section of the route just so see what it will be like later .. I want to get it done first and the track locations as correct as I can... for the rivet counters out there no I'm not aiming for exact proto just a close rep.. will do.. it will serve the purpose and I don't have the time or the inclination to make it perfectly Proto at least not on my own I don't if it was a team effort and somebody with the knowledge was on that team. then maybe it could be done ..

It will at least allow continuous running of a train from Casino to Brisbane port.. and as other routes get released people can merge them and who knows maybe have a train run from Melbourne to Cairns with only the need to change loco's and crews... however that would I guess require a nice PC to run that... Sorry just dreaming...

My understanding is that QR National are clearing house and getting rid of the old stuff. 1720s and 2600s are going overseas, by the looks of it this one will be going to WA for parts (if it's being held for ARG as the writing says). 3100s that weren't converted to 3700s are going overseas as well from memory.
