Australian screenshots

You're right on that regard in that a literal F7 was never ordered new by any Australian railway (although the VR S/CR GM/NSWGR 42 classes were essentially a cutdown and stretched F7 more suited for our smaller loading gauge and lighter track.). However, having said that, two F7s did in fact see service in Australia - two were purchased second-hand from the US Western Pacific Railroad in the late 60's/early 70s by the Mount Newman Mining Company for use on construction trains on Mount Newman's iron ore line in WA's Pilbara region.

Once the line was opened they were delegated to back-up power and service trains for a while before being withdrawn and preserved by the late 70s. As I understand one is on static display in Port Hedland while the other was formerly in the custody of the now-defunct Pilbara Railway Historical Society who restored it to working order for occasional tour train use on the iron ore lines. I have no idea what has since become of that loco though since the PRHS shut down and disposed of their assets.

Anyway, I know there is an old fairly accurate Paintshed reskin of the Auran F7 in the Mount Newman livery on the DLS as 04 content if anyone is interested, as shown below:

EDIT: the reskin was done by John_SB and it's KUID is kuid:60318:3003. :)

Had alook at google earth, there is photos of the F7, she looks very sad

Cheers,
Patchy

G'day Everyone, the screenies being produced recently have been outstanding.

Would just like to share a couple of my current project, very VERY loosely based on Sydney. Only a few hours of work so far though.

First, my un-named terminus Station loosely based off Central (11 Platforms, 2 Parcel Docks and Car Loading Track)

Looking away from the Terminus, with the 8 mainline track (4 Inbound, 4 Outbound) and 2 Loco Dives to the Workshops in the distance

View showing the 2 Loco dives to the workshop area

Station end of the workshops, blank space in the foreground will be the yard office area

Main Junction for the Terminus Station (the 8 tracks become 4) and Workshops

Looking back towards the Workshops and Terminus, next Station will be just beyond this junction

This is a QR light engine to rescue a coalie at Minerva. This is on my real Emerald to Gindie route this line only survives cause of the coal trains.

Used to live at Gindie near the wheat siding. (population 18 I believe on a good day).
Should make a model of it.

Memories.

G'day!

Just thought I'd pop in here and post a screenie. I recently got my ASUS VX-7 back after the HDD Completely failed.

I've been working more and more on my Mock Up of the Tarrawingee Line. I'll be posting a single screenie because for some reason, Trainz is lagging hard on my PC. Which is unusual. 33FPS at this point. Usually it's over 70.

Hello Jason,

kuid2:97212:61004:1 - by Ronin13, Built in as of Trainz 2012 and I think also 2010

I used two of them placed together to form a dual line bridge.

@ Patchy, mate those last few screenies are a pleasure to view :)

Cheers

Trent

Thanks Trent,

Where'd you get those tall telegraph poles? Great shots!

Whoa. Awesome shots guys. Forest Runner, stunning photos mate. As always. You really know how to position your "camera" to give it that life-like feeling!

I've almost finished the revamp of Tarana to Oberon for TS12. It should be on the DLS by Monday.

Here are a few shots.

Thanks Dimi... and some magnificent shots yourself. As Patchy said, that last one's a pearler... and could really represent many branchlines across the country (appearance of gauge aside of course).

Was looking to revamp Tarana-Oberon for TS12 myself actually... but I guess no need to now. Lol. Seriously though, I do look forward to its release.
