Love the first two shots in your last post, Stevo.
The flow of the terrain looks very realistic, and the grasses and textures just enhance it. That's exactly the kind of effect that i try for and fail to achieve, every single time.

...With no school tomorrow and Tim whaching 'Steam in Victoria' all day I thought I'd tackle the unmapped textures of Bill's R and make a weathered version...
...A Dusty R which refused to number itself 736 which has been pushed into freight duty clanks into Cobalt on a cloudy Thursday morning...

I think you will find the red remained red. I don't believe I ever saw one that went off quite like that
However usually you see calcium spills and other grunge breaking up the large expanses of metal.
One rusty R Class hardly showed any trace of the red at all :hehe:

Yeah I found that out just after I'd finished :hehe: But still, I think the faded look adds a nice feel
As for the calcium spills, its hard to replicate when the one texture is stretched to fit the panel. I placed a circle on one texture to see what would happen and it came out as a sort of elongated oval :hehe:

Well, I'm back to where I was before I decided to re-do the scenery on the Strzelecki layout :lol:
K103 leads the morning goods across the private access crossing at the end of Railway Road, near Koo-Wee-Rup.
Near the other end of Railway Road, and just about to cross the bridges into Koo-Wee-Rup, K103 works it's way south with the goods. A short stop at Koo-Wee-Rup will see some wagons dropped off for the line to Strzelecki.

Reopening of Koolbury loop in NSW north of Muswellbrook
Sorry am about 1 week late with posting a little tribute to the reopening of Koolbury Loop just to the north of Muswellbrook
I have it in my giant Hunter Valley layout that covers this loop also
I grew up In Muswellbrook and Koolbury was a very short loop that had a real purpose up till the 80's with crossing a few short goods and passenger trains.
I guess it was kinda famous for the early am crossing of the North Mails on a Saturday and Monday morning when both ran in both directions.The loop itself was then controlled up till it's closure by Muswellbrook Signal Box.
The loop got closed down in the late 80's became a follow on point then closed, however when the Dartbrook Balloon Loop was made, the Down Distant was just near the Old Down Koolbury Starter's.
Now, the loop is recommissioned and much longer opened friday week ago and can hold a 72 wagon Coal train.
here are some shots from my layout - the 1st ones as to what would it be like now if the Old mails ran today.

But now with all the coal to come down from the north of the state, Koolbury is now re born as a modern day loop pretty much with the same kinda signalling but with medium aspects added plus all much part of a enlarged Muswellbrook Yard limit

I should of added this also, that the reopening of Koolbury Loop takes the pressure of Muswellbrook where now days the Double track ends and it junctions off to the North and to Ulan/Gulgong etc.
Also at the same time Koolbury was brought in - Bengalla crossing loop was also brought into use just south of the balloon coal loader loop.
Makes for some very interesting crossings in that area now.

I recently contacted Willem2 to assist me with making a model of the steel coil containers(Also known as butterboxes) which are a common sight on Pacific National Steel trains across Australia,Bill has done a great job making the model with the limited quality pictures around.
Also I know we have a few real life photographers on here so if any of you guys have any high quality images of close up shots of these containers could they PM me as some high quality images would assist in making better quality static versions which will be released as hopefully static and product versions.
Ive attached a few screenshots of the different types that he has done.

Been tinkering in my route over the last day or so, thought I would throw up a shot
Nothing special really, but thought it looked good at the time.
Local footy field at St.Claire
Pretty much finished up the length of the route now, and just going over the scenery, signals, and what not. So hopefully all going well along with time out for surgery very very soon on my arm, I am hoping for an upload in around end of November sometime give or take a week. Have unfortunately had to upgrade the route to TS2012 only. Though it may work in Ts2010, will test that before I do upload it and hopefully Ts2010 user can try it out as well.
Enjoying all the screen shots of late, some very talented work currently.
