Gee
There has been some really nice stuff here and Muliebuck and others have produced some nice yards and station areas.

I don't think I have had so much fun since 2006 spoiled Trainz for me
:'( :n:

However this morning I have been trying to link up several modules and join them together using long runs I produced myself in 2004. I have forgotten how to do it :(
Can someone tell me...
1/ How do you you adjust heights between different maps?
2/ How do you rotate a map to match another's orientation?
3/ Join a 2004 map to a 2010 map. *

* I have tried importing the maps into 2010 and saving them. They look fine, however when I go into Surveyor and join the maps, the track (and some other splines?) are all over the place like knitting wool the cat has been playing with all day.

Thought putting it here might help others use these great maps and extend them too
Perhaps a new thread or an old thread, search did not show me, could be started?
Cheers
Rod
Hi Rod, as far as I know you can not just adjust the heights between different maps. The best way to do it is to add another board/s and slowly build up to the required height between the 2 maps.

You can not rotate the maps when merging them unfortunately and I am not sure of any real answer to this problem. I think they all stay as Nth/Sth orientation but I can not remember, well actually never looked really :hehe:

As for your last problem, your not the only one. This is a known bug that Auran are (hopefully) looking at. The only help I can give is a link to these threads below (to save repeating the details). I tried this method recently and it worked though it is a little annoying.

JCitron worked out an answer and advised the HelpDesk of it, when someone else asked the HelpDesk for help, they got John's solution :hehe:

Hope this helps.

Davido: I'll never get tired of looking at your work - truly, its inspirational to say the least - bravo to you sir.

Now, for something completely different - v3 - yet more NSWGR modular yards, this one is very much a work in progress (no textures/etc) - but I'm wondering - keep the 'grassy' type weeds, or lose them and just have the odd weed here and there over the tracks? Its a tough decision to make, and I just don't know which way to go. Both have advantages and disadvantages, and yes, these are done in compatability mode (as there is no (as far as I know), grass type splines, etc for native mode)

*edit* NSWGR Wygani will be obsoleted with a newer version, to replace the items by Roberto Conti, which whilst listed as KUID2 format, are incorrectly done, and flag with a XXXX:XXXX:127 error. They should be either KUID format (XXXX:XXXX) or KUID2, which is (XXXX:XXXX:1, XXXX:XXXX:2, etc) without the .1 or whatever at the end, Trainz doesn't know what to make of it, and puts a .127 on the end, which can therefore, not be found on the Auran DLS and downloaded...even though the objects are there. These items have been replaced throughout the whole route and the newer version uploaded. I apologise to any who have downloaded the route, and get the error of missing dependencies.

This is going to be a highlight on the Brisbane Valley Line. :udrool: Pete has truly outdone himself, and I can't thank him enough for this creation of the Lockyer Creek Bridge. Will be on the DLS soon.

Oooo - yes please! I'll happily find many a use for that bridge on my fictional modular routes - I'm always after old infrastructure/buildings/etc, to give it that abandoned/semi-used branchline 'feel' :)

A quick message to Victrainz:

Can you please stop using the picture of the S class for every item released? It's hard for the rest of us to see what we're actually downloading and to see the quality of the product.

One other thing, "NSW wooden o head bridge" - That is 9.57MB! The textures in the folders need to be smaller, compressed or just all the textures put into one file. Trainz likes that alot better.

I'm sorry to rant but that defiantly needs to be sorted out. I'm sure it's quite offputting to dial-up users.

Thanks,
Daniel

Well Done Pete!

Most people are worried about asking others to help, you think they must have so much to do..... so you don't (ask)

However our Pete, is always lurking about and ready to offer his help, which makes him one of Trainz valuable assets :hehe:
Reminds me of the chainsaw TV Commercial...
"oh nearly forgot...have one of these..." as the Salesman hands over a miniature helper :D

Not sure who is doing that (amongst our group uploaders) But it is a good point, and I will make a posting at Victrainz to see if we can get people to upgrade their uploads and not do it in future.
As to Dial up , I got to wonder if you can even buy a modem for dial up any more.. Oh wait this IS Australia, your talking about, isn't it?
The Country where the people get to Vote and the Multi National miners don't pay any taxes  But get to sack PM's (Well $360 millions in anti gov propaganda will do that, and even the Liberals could not afford that serious money)
Cheers

I was just assuming someone somewhere was using Dial-up. It's unlikely though. You got some good political points there though:hehe:

Thanks for the help.
Daniel

OK I posted your request to the group. Should create some discussion and hopefully fix the problem :D

One thing is worse than the SOP logo though.
No picture and no description, or a description in a foreign language.
My guess is that great creators have published fantastic content on the DLS, and those of us who only speak English, have no idea as we just skip the anonymous uploads

about the overhead bridge, yes that has big textures in it, but then it's beta, awaiting comments(none but yours so far) and the other thing is you dont have to download it if it's to big.

A private email would have been sufficient to get me to look at changing the textures

cheers
pete

hang on you are talking about the pedestrian bridges not the road bridges, forget what I said they are not beta

Hello Peter
I meant to send you an email, but got tied up with other things.
Just a couple of points to make here, then we should take it back to VicTrainz.
First thing is that Daniel may not know who to email, because it comes up on the DLS as Victrainz, and he would have to download it first to read the config, and perhaps find out who actually built it :hehe:

and secondly Victrainz decided to use Peter Schroeder's logo as an overlay over the asset picture. That is the yellow victrainz names and emblem should be used over the asset picture. Normally Victrainz people would have already seen the item in our beta forums, but others may not be privvy to what the upload is :)

Some of your recent uploads may not in fact have been shown on the Victrainz forums. Perhaps a better way to do it might be to show a screenshot of perhaps the new bridge, and an address of the beta download, so that more people get to use it before it is uploaded to the DLS.
I would be happy to do the screenshots for you, to save you the time. I know how much you enjoy the building part :D
Cheers
Rod

Old Albert River Railway Viaduct

Hey Kentith

WOW... ....Thats the same bridge design as the Albert River Bridge on my SCL but with longer treasels and maybe I will ask Pete to extend it purely for the SCL.

Smashing effort Kentith & Pete:udrool: :udrool:

Yet another small, modular route - only a few shots at present... - a lone 48 class breaks the peace of a cool, winters morning, coming to pick up the empty sheep wagons and load them.

Looking from the level crossing, towards the station, quite peaceful, really...

Looks dry...when did you say it last rained...?

Must be arteisan water for the grain crops - still looks dry...

God damn, Muliebuck! I am speechless. Those shots look absolutely frigging amazing.:Y::Y:

Absolutely mind-blowing, mate. What a pity i don't have a copy of 2010, or these would definitely be on my download list.

Matt.

I didn't realise they were yours Pete. The author just says VicTrainz so I was under the impression anyone can release under that ID. I'll send you an email if you like about how to get files down.

Thanks for listening guys too, this is why the Aussie forums are far more productive than most of the others:)

Daniel

Ps, those shots are good Scott. Nice work
Although rotate trees that are the same and near each other. This gives the impression that they are all different, also changing the hights adds to this.
