Marshalling of trains

Hello Kane 98. Both of the trains you mentioned were marshalled with the power van against the buffer stops out of Sydney Terminal and then the luggage van, various sitting cars, buffet car, second class sleeping cars, first class sleeping cars and then motorail cars. This was to allow the loading of motor vehicles while passengers were boarding the train carriages and then the motorail cars could be marshalled onto the front of the train after the train locomotives arrived. These trains then maintained this consist to there destination and back without the train being turned so that after it arrived back at Sydney Terminal the shunting engine could couple onto the rear of the train and detach the motorail carriages and unload passengers cars as they disembarked.

Just a little something I've been working on - a 70km former branchline, turned into a Tourist railway - and demonstrating some of the wonderful new content recently released :)

I got inspired by something I saw in a route, and thought I'd 'have a go' at making a suitably ill-used industrial branchline spur and yards, so here's some preliminary 'work in progress' shots :)

Hi Muliebuck,

Exquisite shots!.
The realism is wonderful!.
I can feel the slight lazy breeze.

Did you base this on any particular location?.

Outback NSW/QLD/VIC?????
My guess NSW because it's nice & flat. :)

And yes, that content is wonderful!.
Any of it TRS2004?? :o

A few know where its based (no, not on 'real world' place, just something fictional) - it's evolving into a modular route, that may be of use to people. At present, its about four baseboards long, and is being detailed (slowly), but I can easily change the signals/speedboards/etc to suit other 'areas' - at present, its a QR based route.

Sure that isn't the big feed of BEANS you had :o :hehe: :hehe:
Sorry Noel. It was there and someone had to say it.
Glen

:hehe:
Hi Glen,

No, no beans.
The screenies just reminded me of the "Lazy winds" of the "Old Man Plain"
in the Riverina NSW region. They're too lazy to go around you. They just go right through!.
A bit like beans, I suppose? :o :hehe:

JVC(M)Grass#5 Spline, and FMA Instant Grass K 30x20, both should be on the DLS. This route is being implemented in TRS2009, RC2, to experiment with different features and textures that TRS2009 has brought to us.

I just went back to see how this thread started However Jan 1 1970??
I don't think so!! :p
Was this thread started on the deleted forums? And if so by whom?
Cheers
Rod

yes the forum is doing strange things, from memory it started just after the forums became active again after the little enforced "holiday" and I think the user "cook' started it off from memory.

Anyway its all good fun

Hi Comtrain,

As ad60200 says 'cook' started this thread after the great crash on 15 Nov 2006. Post 7 is the starting post. :)

The posts prior to that happened during a glitch (timewarp) and went out of sequence during 2008 I think.

Cheers,

Bill.
