pete dreddy

the 1400 class used A1A-A1A bogies which had a none powered axle in each bogie, while the 1460 class used Co-Co bogies. which had power through all axles in each bogie.

cheers

Another blue for the 1460. Come on folks, need a hand here. Am I getting colder or warmer with this??

Yup, that looks about right for a faded blue 1460 there Col, good work .. just needs some slight weathering a tad.

The colonials list is growing...

Each will have their own custom doormat which should speak for themselves.

Cheers!

chuff ;)

Agree with Chuff Col. That looks about right for the fade. I think most of it was due to us cleaners on the ramp and the products that were used to clean them. You soon knew if you hadn't washed it off right as there would be a big white patch down the side where the soap/acid had dried. We then had to go down with a bucket of water and a clean broom and scrub it off. Just needs a little more something though but I'm not sure what it is. Possibly a rusty spot or two or something like that. Maybe this one just came out of the yard after we washed it? That's why it looks so clean.:hehe:
Glen
PS will see what I can do about some pics too Col. Have a few contacts that may be able to assist.

Yes you are right dreddy, not my nose but a dyslexic keyboard, but the bogies, were they 4 or 6 wheel, These are the same as a high top T but they had 4 wheel bogies, then again the 49 class was in the same make and they had 6 wheeler bogies

*********
Would anyone have a diagram of the 1400 class? I'm converting A high top T into a 1400 but I do not have diagram or pics clearly showing bogie details
cheers

1783D never existed though, 1720-1775 and 1700-1710.;)
The beauty of changeable running numbers and destonation boards you can be any number and be going any where you want latest versions of 1460 and 1700/20 were uploaded to QDR last night although I just found a texture error on the right hand side of the 1700/20's I will fix today if I get time supposed to wash the car as going on a cruise up the Nth Coast tomorrow But then who in their right mind would wash a car in the rain?
:o :o :p

Locos never stay clean for long huh?? 1483 must be due for a wash soon. Send her through the car wash at Normanby.

Nice Col.. (No, not you). :) The finishing touch to your reskin is just giving Glen more work of cleaning the bugger. However, are both repaints good to go?

Once again, some wonderful work coming up the line from various people - this could be just what I need, to help me with a 'writers block' type incident with route-building. Keep up the wonderful work people.

Enter the Golden Holden, 1461....

Improvements will be carried out.

A bit of weathering and tidying up of some of the livery. Mainly on the long hood.

1460, Elephant ears. Not sure how many were like this, I do know that 1500-1501 received the dynamic brakes, I'm thinking some of the late 1490s had them as well, 1498-1499, not sure.
