Australian screenshots

Seems there is still fair amount of tension on this thread guess its time to visit Vic Trainz for a while and skip this ...

Sorry guys I can get plenty of bitching at home... without having to put up with it on the forum so do us all a favor and keep it to PM's.

Not bad, FBI_Bosch.

Might want to have a look at that fence, though. easiest way would be add a spline point where it 'humps' up, and then use the remove gradient tool.

Message From The Commissioner

G'day Everyone,

Enough of the moaning, lets just enjoy trainz and not bitch and make other peoples lives a missery, your only not only hurting yourself but your hurting others. Where is the fair go, just take a step back and breathe. It you have a problem with someone or party take it in private, not on public place like here. This is a great place for one and all, don't ruin it. Because where will will go if this thread was shut down, all the awesome shots of Australia where will we see Qld, Victoria, South Australia, NSW and a little of Tassie and all the new assets fresh from the workshops; the screenshots of awesome routes, it will be just nothing.

Play is safe everyone :) :D

Now, a shot of Ipswich, to break the ice. QR Heritage 974 on the turntable run.

Thanks Matt, although the fence is certainly not the highest of all priorities at the moment.

Yes I am VSetFan over on RP, please call me Harry.

Also Vinny, how far off are the 3000/3100 Class and the 2000/2100 Class railcars? And what are your creations after the SCT, Bluebirds going to be?
Oh my, I haven't even thought of these for some time, I still need some bogie shots and other details for the 2000/3000 Classes. One of these days when I will be in Adelaide, I might get these pictures but it is very hard getting close to these to get very detailed shots. But I have so much on my plate atm, I haven't got the foggiest idea when (or if) I ever shall begin these.

After the SCT Class I am trying to get the other liveries made of this Downer EDi locomotive, you know how many there are like the LDP, WH etc. Classes, then the PN Class, PN 5000, 6000 and 9000, ARG AC Class and Q Class, possibly a very detailed NR Class, as I (from a creators point of view I like to see some/lots more details on it, no offence meant or intended to David Owen or NatVander for their versions), Freightline's FQ Class among some others I have in mind. And there still is the CLF/CL Class to finish off with all the older liveries like the CR and AN colours. Whether I get to create all of these above is a different matter but I try to get there. Plus I still need to get started on a DL Class, I have most material needed for it but there are only 24 hours in a day and I have a life too.

It took me the better part of 12 months to create all the AN Classes, similar with the CLP Class as it is something I had to create fresh from the ground up and I could not compare these to the same or any similar ones on the DLS. As there were none there before and that is the way I like it, to create something fresh, not done yet. That is me.

To those who do not know what it entails to get started on creating a new locomotive, there is the research as there are usually no drawings or planes available and often only the length of some of the late comers is known. Just check with Google to see how sparse of details the above locomotive types are. I usually take my own pictures in my own way, where I can stitch part of these pictures together to get an overall look of the subject on hand. This gives me roughly the location of the various different parts and sections on a locomotive. If the height is not known, well, you compare pictures you see on the net with often different types of locomotives coupled on or side by side and gain the height from these.

Then there are the bogies to be made, some are simple to build or are used by other types of locomotives but I usually create and texture my own. You can see yourself how much detail I put on these. I build/create not for today's PC, I create for those available in 2 years time, hence my models are better running on current higher specced PCs.

After creating the unit, there are usually 4 LODs to implement, these can take up to a couple of months to work out and to create. So one can see, there is lots of work to be done. Also, not all the time one wants to spend with 3DS Max, there was Oblivion and Dragon Age just some time ago and now there is Skyrim to be played. A new copy of it is already sitting here since its release, I haven't had the time to install this yet. Then there is Rage, Battlefield 3, MoH, Call of Duty etc. where I like to hack and slash and mayhem my way around in and there is also FlightSimX, where I have about 30 GB of reference material, Oz scenery and airports and so on to play with.

It is a hard life I tell you, owning a PC :p.

Cheers

Btw; @ Lenny, well that platform according to my information was removed in 1997.

Maybe that document does say 1997 but that does not mean it actually was removed in 1997. Nor does it have to mean that platform still existed in that year. Some train magazines have hinted that official documents in some states sometimes have "catch up" bits where the paperwork catches up with what actually happened "in the field" some time earlier, in other words, just a clerical entry to record what may have occurred previously, even years previously.

This can be the case with both track work and rolling stock. In the case of rolling stock, railfan magazines in some cases have noted the item listed in the official notice was actually scrapped long before the official date. In other cases, the item shown as scrapped still existed but was diverted for some other official use and the "scrapping" book entry was to tidy up the process.

I must of been having a late night of sorts, and misread the document. You can do alot of silly things while half sleep. So appologies to everyone for that mistake on my behalf.

Cheers

Trainz89 these words sound like the person who has a guilty conscious. You talk of a fair go You talk about resolving things in private maybe you need to practice what you preach. I agree things should be resolved not in private but hey the issue about me and my work occurred in a public place and not directly to may face, but in trainz ichat to others, yes Michael/trainz89 i heard all about your comments. I do this for fun and the company of some great friends and people, i have tried to give you some constructive comments to correct a few mistakes you have made with your work and you mistook them as a personnel attack. Not the first time you have done this either.

I am not for sale never have never will be i may not be perfect but atleast i am me.

And I would rather prefer that my nickname be used in general conversation on this forum, Mickey. HBL, Mr Lynch or even Your Royal Highness if you want to go that far...

I would also prefer that you took my comment for the poke in fun that it was meant to be.

Cheers,
your going to have to do a lot of sucking to get the royal highness title

still want to hear what was said, cause if this were a court case, he is innocent till proven guilty

Cricketstar, he admitted it on the last page.

I don't know how kids deal with issues like this, but I can strongly suggest that in the adult world for a case like this, if you're not directly involved, stay out of it.

Again, a lovely screenshot Ghosty, full of accurate and detailed scenery. Stay well.

I wont be saying what was said. This matter is between Trainz89 and myself. To reveal what was said would be kicking a person while they are down, and unlike some i wont do that. This matter has not helped my battle with DEPRESSION. I guess you dont know what it is like to suffer from DEPRESSION. Certain comments though harmless can lead to people committing suicide. So BACK OFF and LET THIS REST this is none of your business trainz89 maybe your friend but this matter DOES not involve you!
